Would it make a difference? His 'judgement' would remain the same whether or not it was a hoax, and that is what is most disturbing.

The disturbing part is, the police purposely put an ad to catch people wanting sex with a dog.
That is the most disturbing part. They don't want to fight more serious crime anymore.

who ever have pets might have sexual relations with animals.

Having sex with animals is sick and disgusting and its not my thing.
However, since when is sick being illegal and put in jail ???

There are the criminally insane, then there are the criminals. The ones imprisoned are judged to be criminals, hope that answers the question...............:)

Sometimes the law has to get involved in order to prove/document the need/severity of a case before the mentally ill can get the help they want/need, particularly when the government will be picking up the tab.

Other times, a mentally ill person may not know/understand that he/she is a danger to him/herself and/or others and may need to be first taken 'off the streets', and then persuaded/forced to seek help – sentenced to therapy or an institution.
