Barilla Pasta is ready to give Chick-fil-A a run for its money as the world’s most anti-gay food company, after its Italian president announced that they would not feature a same-sex marriage in their advertisements and would be just fine with gay people eating a different brand.

Guido Barilla, the chairman of Barilla Pasta, shared his opinion of homosexuality in an Italian radio interview.

According to Reuters, Barilla said:

"I would never do (a commercial) with a homosexual family, not for lack of respect but because we don't agree with them.

...

(If gay people) like our pasta and our advertising, they'll eat our pasta, if they don't like it then they will not eat it and they will eat another brand."

Mad because they're bad at giving head. They always emphasize how "to the teeth" their product is.

I never had it...never saw it...never heard of it...'til now. If I do see it I will not buy it. I like fresh pasta anyway.

Barilla's pasta itself is fine, if nothing special. DeCecco is a decent competitor.

I don't care what the CEO says. I've never bought Barilla or any bottled sauce anyway. Always made my own sauce from scratch and always will...and have a pasta machine to make my own.

Him not agreeing with "teh gays" is not the same as Chick-fil-A openly supporting politics and fundamentalists that want us to have no rights(though he's still an asshat for stating we shouldn't be able to adopt, even if he says we should get to marry). The Italian family is strongly centered on the mother - had he just said THAT, there wouldn't be such a big uproar.

That stated, the man doesn't care if he gets our money, so I don't care to eat his product.

I like to support companies because they employ workers, doing things at home is great but thinking of the broader economy as well. That said, won't ever use any Barilla products again...if getting pasta there are other brands just as good if not better.

Meh. Not hard to boycott. I do already, based on how cheap it tastes.

So... the straight homophobe with the limp noodles doesn't want to share his noodles. Is that news? ;)

Really easy for me to boycott...I don't buy their products. I find them unimpressive and overpriced.

I wonder if he meant what he said or if this is a case of people overreacting to someone with poor English abilities?

.
I don't buy Barilla anyway, but here's an alternative:

If Barilla finds us unacceptable, they don't need our business.

Mama mia!

im pretty sure he was speaking in Italian on an Italian radio show....

Meh.

There are better pastas out there than Barilla. I'll bet that pasta sales in the bible belt just shot up though.

and of course, he seems pretty indifferent as to whether fags are chowing down on his noodles or not.
