That doesn't surprise me all that much. About the death squads and Iraq. When the show first came out it was drawing a lot from the feelings after 9/11. What with the war in Iraq on the minds of everyone here it all seems like a natural progression. Either way, I'm looking forward to Friday night!

Tonights episode was pretty good, but it felt like filler. I liked last week's better. Still it was good. I'm glad Rosalyn pardoned people. I'm glad the chief figured out the one dude was the informant. sad about the young guy that got blown out the air lock though :(

but i missed something...when did what's his name get to be president???

Well not every episode can be of last weeks caliber. Last weeks VFX budget was probably worth at least 4 episodes. That's how it's done, you sacrafice in a few episodes so you can have a few blockbusters.

And about Jammer getting blown out the airlock, i saw that one coming a light year away. Too bad, he WAS kinda cute.

Tom Zarek was Baltar's legally elected Vice President. When the Cylons came to new caprica, Zarek spoke out against them and baltar, and so was left out of the loop so to speak. When the exodus happened, and Baltar's presidency was overthrown, Zarek as the legal vice president, became the President.

Then, seeing as Adama was not going to have him running around as president, he made the deal with Laura; HE conviegns the new quorum (congress), selects Laura as HIS vice president, then HE resigns and SHE becomes the president again. Except they didn't quite know about his one and only executive order as president, letting the little circle go around killing collaborators.

Overall i thought it was a good episode given last weeks blockbuster"ness". I'm glad things haven't just been reset, that there is still some lingering anguish about the occupation. Tigh better watch his mouth too, i can't beleive he talked to Adama like that. And wow, Starbuck is seriously frakked in the head, she has MAJOR issues now... She even tried to give her CUTE ASS husband the boot.

The episode did seem to be a lot of 'filler' but I'll take it none the less. I predict Lee will be given the EXO position. Tigh is just too far in the bottle and can't see way out. I missed Sharon in last nights show. You would have thought there was going to be big drama about here now being a member of the crew and not a prisoner. And wow, Baltar is now the main sperm donor of the Cylons!

lol yeah i get that last week's episode was a big one...it doesn't bother me to see somewhat less stories in a show. I mean hell most folks thought enterprise sucked, but i liked it and watched every episode. i don't watch shows to pick them apart so i certainly wont with BSG. i like them 'cause they are good (mostly ;) ).

Lee could get the EXO job...Tigh is just a dumb ass. Lee has a lot more jump rope sessions to complete though. =)

It is hilarious they've made his weight loss part of the show.

I have to say that before, I never really thought much of Gaeta. I mean, he seemed sort of cute. But this season he's grown on me. I'm sad that Jammer was spaced, but his affiliation with the 'police' force sealed his doom. Felix on the other hand, whew!

Now, as to last night's episode. Could Baltar be one of the unseen Cylon models? I sort of doubt it myself, but the idea is very neat. And what about that piece of tech the Cylons found in that nebula? I'm guessing its some sort of beacon left behind by the 13th on their way to Earth. Any other guesses?

And yes! Shirtless sweaty Bamber! Now if they would only give us shirtless Helo! ;)

Oooh! Yes please. Shirtless Helo.
There's a movie theater by my house that shows BSG every Friday night at midnight. They show the previous week's episode and the current episode. Because last night's episode was the first of a 2 parter, I'm going to have to go back to the theater to watch it again. The episode where Galactica jumped into the atmosphere was wicked AWESOME on the big screen.

God! The effects on that one, with all the ships and then the destruction of the Pegasus? Two Thumbs Up!

I cant wait to see the story of the other 5 models! I assume the beacons have something within them that will lead to the next clue...

We don't speak about them, ever.

I so want to know what that means :)

Now, the big question, HOW would the 13th tribe (if that's who left the beacon), who departed Kobol 2000 years ago, before the Cylons were created, know to leave it infected with a virus that would ONLY affect CYLONS? And not just human-form Cylons, but all Cylons, mechanicals included. Purely accidental? Coincidence? I don't think so, not with sharon (now athena) saying something like "and god's wrath came down upon even the mighty (the cylons)."

We are still missing a big peice of this whole 13 tribes Kobol puzzle. I'm not entirely convinced the 13th tribe left FROM Kobol, perhaps it was the other way around. Think about it, how would a map of earth's location be ON kobol, before the tribe supposedly even found and landed on earth? Now if Earth was first in this chain, then i could see how that happens, Earth > Kobol > Colonies. I dunno, like i said, there's a few peices still missing, but i have no doubt the answer is not as simple as Earth is the 13th colony that left from Kobol; there is some other kind of yet unknown history or origin to Earth and it's relation to Kobol and the Colonies. At least i think.

If any of you have ever played the first Homeworld PC game you'll know kinda what i'm thinking... After all, some of the people who created and worked on the origional BSG helped develop that video game.

I assumed everyone came from Earth. Humans colonized Kobal a long time ago, and those from Kobal set out to the other colonies. Earth became kind of a legend because so much time had passed.

Whatever happened, the story is going to be very interesting now that both the Cylons and humans are looking for Earth.

This last episode was great- Adama should jump into the nebula and steal the base star.

I think the hybrids can be counted as one of the twelve. I didn't think the raider could be, but changed my mind on that. (I'm a flip flopping democrat)

As for Earth? Well I think they would have to discover a possible colony and investigate further to see if it could support life, and not taken already. Then, decide if they want to colonize, not head out into space blindly hoping for a planet to land on. So, Kobol should know the location of the colonies.

Adama should scavange the base star for all its worth. But, the hybrid probably died and the cylons said something about the hybrid BEING the base star. So, if it died, it wouldn't/shouldn't be functional. They can still get lots of STUFF from it!

The Beacon? It was stated earlier about the prophecies, it happened before/will happen again...time is circular, look in the past, see the future? That is a tough one to figure out.

Great season, can't wait for more!

Don't think the hybrids count as one of the 12 models....and isn't Baltar the one who's really projecting? After all that beween Baltar and Six,when he asks if he's really a cylon and suddenly she responds,"What?"....like she hasno clue to what he's talking about, after he tells her he's only seen seven models, where are the other five? And she cryptically reveals in the projection, even if it's only Baltar causing this, that it is a subject that is not discussed,do we have Cylons who exist among the humans besides Boomer/Athena?it's interesting, what was in that capsule as well on the doomed bay starship that is killing those who came in contact with it,and are humans responsible for these deaths if the capsule originated from them?

lots of questions, very compelling and well acted(the subplots regarding Starbuck and Cololonel Tigh and their cynicism, sarcasm, and bitterness since their return due all that hapened with them during the occupation being particularly poignant). If the new Caprica series gets off the ground, this will be the most thought-provoking and well rounded franchise on the air today.

....and isn't Baltar the one who's really projecting?
I don't think so. When the cylons project, they're able to interact with the environment and talk to others. Baltar just seems to day dream and talks to Six, no one else.

If the hybrid was one of the 12, then they wouldnt have openly talked about it... and it doesnt make sense for the raiders to be included in the 12 models, she said 'we dont talk about them' and they would have to be human models.

...so my guess is there are 5 human models out there - I would like to know the story behind those 5 :D

RDM (Ronald D. Moore, creator and Executive producer of the new Battlestar Galactica) has stated many times that the "12 models" refers ONLY to those fully HUMAN FORM cylons, and that we have (to date) only seen (that we are supposed to know of) 7 of those.

So that means Raiders, Centurians, Heavy Raiders, Basestars, and Basestar Hybrids are all not of the 12 models. Besides, they wouldn't have refered to the hybrid as a "hybrid" (that doesn't get a vote in things) if it was one of the models.
