Being Christian and gay at the same time?

Now I would certainly approve of Christians all coming to that conclusion, but the fact is that is not even accepted "scholarship" among people who aren't even Christians.

I dig into these interpretations because I would love to find that prejudice has been keeping us from seeing the original meaning for centuries on centuries. But more often that not, it's just delusion in action.

Gary Gutting on being Catholic and gay at the same time.

There is considerable discussion among biblical scholars on this issue, with many suggesting that the passages that seem to condemn homosexual acts in general actually refer only to certain cases such as homosexual rape or male prostitution. But even if the biblical view is that any homosexual act is immoral, the Bible’s support for this view is no stronger than its support for the morality of slavery. Christian scholars argue that the acceptance of slavery (even in the New Testament, by Paul) merely reflects the limited perspective of the Bible’s human authors (similar to their belief in geocentrism or six-day creation) and does not reflect God’s revelation

Yes you CAN be gay and Christian at the same time. Who are the bigots to judge who is Christian and judge what Christianity is and is not? Only God/Jesus is the judge!

Well there has to be some general consensus as to a definition of what Christianity is or is not or the label would be meaningless...

There is no Christianity without carrying ones own Cross, following the example of Jesus Himself. Cross minus Resurrection = no Christianity. There can be no Christianity without one or the other.
