This makes the most sense to me. We all have dicks. It's nothing we haven't seen before. I guess it's alright for a male, any male to shower together regardless of what their interests are and who they're having sex with.
 
I was forced to do that at School. It might be an easier experience now that I am older but I decide to avoid it. It makes me uncomfortable and I would much prefer to shower alone anyway.
 
It would be a weird situation where you would have enough time to sit around getting turned on...

I have been in the shower with all kinds of men for all kinds of reasons... you will be fine. Just take a shower and then go dry off.

Yeah we all have dicks and some of us may have seen many of them in the showers. But, seeing another guy's erected dick is quite a different situation. Gay/Straight/Bi men may get weirded out because an erected dick conveys arousal. If straight/gay/bi men go around all the time being exposed to erected dicks then taking a shower with a boner would be a non-issue. But this is clearly not the case. Modesty is the best policy when it comes to showering in public.
 
When I first moved back here after graduating university I was out and proud. I'd joined the local basketball league, and after our first game I went into the locker room, undressed, and went into the shower. Lol ... 12 out of 15 guys left the showers immediately (some still with shampoo in their hair). Ha ha, it's not as if I walked in there with a raging hard-on or anything!

The homophobia has since disappeared, as they've discovered that my sexuality isn't contagious. Now most are comfortable enough to ask me whom I think has the best cock, ass, legs, body, etc. Lol ... of course, I do maintain a semblance of modesty and/or coyness, as I always answer, "YOU!" to whomever is asking.

It's been a while since I've used a group shower. For better or worse my current gym has individual showers, which is probably better because most naked men are not worth looking at anyway. I guess I always welcomed being slightly aroused in a shower because it gives me a bit more length and girth and I'm a grower rather than a shower. I've only gotten more aroused (though never standing at attention aroused) when I've been in showers with other guys who were good-looking and were as interested in me as I was them. It's only happened a couple of times.

I would say relax and take your cues from the rest of the guys--observe how they relate to each other and take it from there.
