Which one are you? Friends of mine say that gay people are mostly atheists, so i was curious.

I for one, am atheist.

Also, include if you are agnostic.

Atheist for many years.

Currently atheist, principly because I haven't come across an argument or piece of evidence that even partially convinces me of any particular claim with regards to theism. I don't discount the possibility of any creator entity or those that might be analogous to what mythology calls "gods," but I'm fairly certain at this point that none of those described by traditional mythology/religion exist (or at least exist as written), and that if such an entity/entities were to become evident, it/they would be far and beyond anything that man-created mythology encompasses.

There are plenty of religious homosexuals, and they'll be stopping by this thread shortly to voice offense at your friend's presumption and argue that homosexuality and the Abrahamic religions can be reconciled.

Nevermind that although we can't say with 100% assurance that there are no gods, the evidence suggests quite strongly that there almost certainly are not, least of all the Judeo-Christian one.

I'm not saying there aren't believing homosexuals, nor was my friend. amongst my gay friends, they are either:
a) atheist
b) unknown at the moment.

I was raised catholic and went to catholic school from grades 5-12, but became an atheist around grade 10. Not merely against organised religions, bt a total lack of belief in god.

No value judgements on it either way for me, people are free to believe wat they want to believe.

I'm a Taoist. I do believe. However, I also believe that even though their are so many religions out there, most of the religions are interconnected some way. I believe that all of those religion's hierarchy belief are pretty much the same. Am I the only one? lol

I am happily agnostic. I think it's the most sensible position to take. Unless you've seen God, it's crazy to say you have faith that he exists. And on the flip side of that, atheists tend to be firm in their assertion that they know for a fact that there is no supreme being, creator of anything of the sort. That's just a bit too much for me to swallow too.

I think it's impossible to know beyond a shadow of a doubt. It can't be proved or disproved by any means we know of.

Agnostic. I have many other current problems that I'd like to spend time on solving than arguing over the question if gods exists.

I'm a believer.

The most important thing you should always remember:

"God is not the Church".

And I believe in God!

I have never heard one single atheist say that they would continue disbelieving if they came across good evidence (or even partly decent evidence) for any sort of god or gods.

The idea that atheists are somehow the mirror image of fundamentalist believers is just a bit of propaganda put out by people who "need to believe," to discredit people who simply have no reason to believe.

Please don't buy into the propaganda.

And for those reasons, and many others, I am delighted to say I'm atheist.
