Ok now... who has the best male voice in Classic Rock?

My choices are:

1. Burton Cummings (The Guess Who)
2. Myles Goodwyn (April Wine)
3. Bob Seger
4. John Fogerty (CCR)
5. Dennis Deyoung (Styx)

Freddy Mercury comes to mind. And not just because he was gay, but he was a genuinely talented singer. And surprisingly Queen was never my favorite band.

Yes... it would be hard to argue the vocal talents of the late Mr. Mercury.

Freddie also here. And Steven Tyler. And Paul Rodgers. And Robert Plant. And Glenn Hughes. And John Wetton. And...

Heathens.

...

Brian Johnson?!? How did you forget him?

I agree with Freddy, Plant, Rodgers, and would add Ronnie Van Zant to the equation, along with Phil Lynott.

Roy Orbison
Elvis
David Bowie
Little Richard
Springsteen
Roger Daltrey
Peter Gabriel
Robin Gibb (hey, it's my list)

... and Janis Joplin and Phil Lynott and Marc Bolan and Jeff Buckley and David Coverdale and Greg Lake

Steve Perry
I was given a Journey album for Christmas once and after hearing it I ran out and bought every album of their's I could find.
Perry's voice is smooth, sexy and just plain awesome

Roger Daltry (nobody could scream like him in Won't Get Fooled Again)
Freddie Mercury
Bruce Springsteen
Phil Collins
Sting (more New Wave than classic rock, I s'pose)

Interesting that all the choices are from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
What's up with the deplorable crap we're listening to these days ?

(Maybe that guy from 'Nickelback', but that's about it)

Anyway, for me it's Robert Plant. In his prime, NO one could wail like
he used to. (One listen to 'Communication Breakdown' can change a person for life....He was EIGHTEEN when he recorded that !)

As for the female side, Janis, Ann Wilson and my beloved Stevie Nicks.
