Biden says Obama approved ad was terrible

It's been known for some time that McCain has an issue using a computer. It was been published in the NY Times. Yet Obama and company ignored that well known fact and went forward with the hit piece.

Of course, they get a pass from the media and nothing much happens.

Re: Biden attacks Obama ad!

Exactly the point I made during the primaries.

Re: Biden attacks Obama ad!

I sure will be glad when this election is over. For all I know China may have sunken into the ocean with millions of casualties but if that has happened, I wouldn't know about it 'til months after the election. Now all I get is 1/2 hour specials on Sarah Palin blowing her nose and Obama using a public bathroom and Biden insisting on the window seat when he rides the train.

Then of course you get to log onto JUB and read two variations of each story, the pro-candidate spin and the anti-candidate version, neither of which are accurate.

And if the San Andreas Fault cut loose, the main topic of discussion would be how that was going to affect the presidential election....

They had no right to use that, anymore then McCain had a right to abuse the "pig/lipstick" shtick.

Just because he's the running mate, doesn't mean he has to approve of everything. Same goes for Palin/McCain.

apples and oranges

do they have them up north?

biden is dead on - he is right of course and i respect his "regular joe" deal - and voters do too

as for pig/lipstick - BO said it right after the repub convention - and the crowd knew the deal with laughter - some nervous - dumb move by obama - but he knew what he was doing - or he's a dumb shit - neither is good

Here's the ad:

It says that he "admits that he still doesn't know how to use a computer" and "can't send an e-mail."

The NYT interview in July 2008 with McCain details his "issue" with using a computer, but there is no mention of his inability to type because of his war wounds:

Q: But do you go on line for yourself?

Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need – including going to my daughter’s blog first, before anything else.

***********

Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?

Mr. McCain: No

Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.

Mr. McCain: I use the Blackberry, but I don’t e-mail, I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail.

I think the people who linked Palin to the pig are the dumb shits.

You are not allowed to say the word "pig" after the republican convention. That is Palin's word and if you use it then everyone will know you are referring to her as a pig [-X tsk tsk Mr. Obama... don't go there my friend.

Hog wash. The whole thing was stupid and perhaps Obama should have been more stupid to account for how stupid Americans can be. Meaning if he was more of an idiot to think like that (I can't say the word "pig" for awhile) then he would have thought to disregard the word. But alas, he forgot to dumb himself down #-o damnit Obama!

thanks for ur opinion about the "dumb shits"

he was aiming at her - yep - and his crowd knew it - and responded as such - very clever that BO

bravo - but didn't win him any on the fence hillary supporters now did it

which means not too bright for BO - who i hear is a genius

not very genius like i would suggest

i would argue that on this one, BO was, to use ur term, a "dumb shit" ;)

yep

and i love ur "americans r stupid" too

perhaps u should just say "americans r dumb shits" ;)

The crowd cheered and that it proof he was aiming the statement at Palin? That's proof? The crowd? Seems like a leap... seems the people in the crowd are also, to use your term "dumb shits" ..|

its proof that they knew what he was talking about

not that funny/timely otherwise

not a leap - perhaps a step - but not a leap

not my term

somebody elses ;)

I think it's proof that they agreed with him: that McCain's sudden adoption of the "change" mantel is just puttin' lipstick on a pig.

Ya got nothin' C.

Just like the folks at FoxNews. . . you want it to be true, so it is. No debate, you've decided.

No worky for me tomorrow. . . driving to Tampa to pick up a friend at the airport. Join us?

And McCain said it about Clinton.....

Why didn't you guys jump on that?

Because McCain didn't say it about Clinton, he said it about her proposal.

Palin had just made a joke about hockey moms being like pit bulls but with lipstick, so Obama's comment seemed to be referring directly back to Palin herself.

This was just stupid. How people are still talking about it and using it against Obama is mind blowing.

It's usually the stupid shit that takes hold; like TV commercial jingles, it's easier to remember.

Sadly, "sound-bite mentality," no?

Are we being elitist?

Actually, no: this isn't elitism, it's realism -- many, if not most Americans speak "soundbite". We've been trained that way by Madison Avenue and public schools: no thought longer than twenty-some seconds, no sentences longer than twenty-some words.

That's what's really terrible about the ad: it doesn't invite thought, it asks for emotional reactions.

Almost makes me feel that we should put ritalin in the water supply (sarcasm intended) the way we do fluoride! What you describe smacks of mass-induced Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder. And I can't disagree.

yes a reasonable person would think so ;)

as did the audience members (when BO made the comment)
