Big Brother 13 CBS

Is it known who fell first yet? I want to see Danielle receive a punishment, especially if she'll cry. /evil

Joe fell before the episode was even over slip LOL. No joke. We don't know what punishment he got yet.

I'm not sure WHY Shane is still holding on -- he's clearly not on Ian's radar this week -- but I'm just glad he is. Shane needs to offer Ian safety and get him to drop already. Cuz lord knows Dan/Danielle can talk him out of honoring that deal later.

ARGH!!! When the endurance competition started I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if somebody actually fell before the show ended for once?" Then they went to commercial and I drifted off for a ten minute nap. Must rewatch that immediately.

UGH. Shane made a deal with Ian for safety (for him and Danielle) and he dropped.

FUCKING IAN IS HOH.

This week is going to suck so bad.

Well Veto is probably going the Otev comp and I suspect it'll be a damn epic one.

Also didn't Julie say tonight that the finale was in three weeks? Aren't there seven people left in the game now? Even with a double eviction they'd have four people going into the finale...

I would die if they actually brought the F3 from Survivor to Big Brother. DON'T DO IT, GRODNER.

It's going to suck really bad. At least Dan will be going home.

It's funny seeing people changing their tones on Dan. He was always a liar. He put his hand on the bible and turned on Memphis his first time around with no hesitation to betray. Can't wait til his Kermit the frog looking ass it out.

UGH they might do exactly that to get some combo of Dan/Frank/Ian in the F3. God I hope not. Pretty much the only thing BB has going for it over Survivor these days is sticking to the original (and better) F2 format.

Hopefully this just means they'll have two evictions on Finale?

Dan is in a pretty rough spot for this veto. If it's a physical veto than Frank will have an edge. If it's mental Ian will have the edge.

Haha, you didn't even mention that Jenn did too! I just watched the last segment. That's gotta be the worst showing for an endurance competition ever, having TWO people down before the live episode even ends.

Yes and Dan becomes #1 target if Frank wins it. I mean after last week I'm certainly never going to count him out again, but this kind of danger is exactly why he shouldn't have thrown the HOH comp. This was the same comp he won on his season for crying out loud!

Well, before Julie closed the show at the beginning of the Final HOH endurance on All Stars, Boogie jumped off willingly and somewhat strategically, and Janelle was eliminated due to a genuine $500,000 brain fart (hilariously wasting that whole volcano prop). And I guess it's possible Joe just wanted whatever "reward" was in that box?

Joe & Jenn. Brought to you by IKEA.

Awesomeness, there are several things I disagree with in your post -- chiefly, the underlying assumption that players like Dan are "doing nothing" when they manage to elude danger week after week despite their profile, because that clearly takes social game which is what this game is about, not winning incredibly stupid competitions -- but I'm willing to wait until the season is over (or at least until Dan is evicted) before we fully compare Dan and Will. How about that? :D

Oh and Will was totally targeted several times on Season 2 and had to talk himself out of eviction the way Dan did last week -- and Will put himself in that position by forming Chilltown, an incredibly small alliance that pissed off the rest of the house and united them against Chilltown -- but again let's go into that when we can fully compare the two seasons of Will & Dan.

I really don't think he threw this. His season he won an endurance but that was swinging. This one was spinning. I definitely don't think he would've thrown it with Ian still in the game. Dan just needs to pray that Frank doesn't win the veto.

If competitions meant nothing, Janelle's credibility as a great player is dead.

This is why it's difficult to have this conversation because I DON'T think Janelle is a great player. Her entire game is win competitions. That's...actually nothing. Let's be real. This isn't the Olympics. Hell it's not even Survivor. These competitions are incredibly stupid, so it's not like winning one is some great life achievement. I love Janelle and she's one of my favorites, but I'm under no delusions that she's a great BB player. These are games of social strategy where it doesn't really matter how you get to the end as long as you can get the majority of the jury to vote for you. Dr Will won without winning a single competition and he is (for now) the greatest player of all time.

I didn't see season 2.

Um...no offense but why are we even discussing this then? If we're going to talk about Dan's two seasons vs Will's two seasons -- and I'm stating that I can't really compare them until Dan's second season is finished because you know, I need to see all of them in full if I'm going to compare them -- then you need to see all of Will before you make any kind of argument about his gameplay.

So you're basically saying Will is the greatest player of all time based solely on All Stars? A season he didn't even win? That makes no sense.

Judging from your posts you'd probably think Will did "nothing" on Season 2 also since he won 0 comps, and made no "big" moves. All of his work was subtle.

Weren't they being banged against a wall on Season 10 too? That actually seems harder although I guess the spinning adds something new. He's already saying he wants Frank out and wants to reunite the Quack so that makes me wonder if he threw it to get Frank out so he wouldn't have to backdoor Frank himself.

I dunno...I'm just disappointed he didn't stick it out when he really needed it and I'm bitter that the winner was the twerp I despise the most in the house.

Since we still have to see how Dan finishes this season, for now I can understand hailing Will as the best player even only having seen him in All-Stars. It's a combination of his BB2 reputation among the fans, and the fact that said reputation was to the detriment of his game but he still got as far as he did and played as well as he did in All-Stars.

Like, I've watched Survivor since day one and I have no problem when Richard Hatch is listed as one of the best players of Survivor. But even he couldn't overcome his reputation (or wasn't concerned with maintaining it) and was booted pre-merge in Survivor's All-Stars. Will in comparison went much further and with a much more proactive game.

I just realized it but Dan has been a floater this season. He's done the least out of anyone in the Quack Pack, he throws challenges, he didn't do anything until he was finally put up which is what a floater does (See Jenn). A floater is someone who does nothing but shift to where the power is. He shifted to Frank and he'll shift right back to Ian this week.

Which is exactly what Will did on Season 2.

At some point, it really is just reputation. I agree that Will is the best player in BB history, but if Dan won this season, some would still consider Will the best just because of the reputation. It's like how no matter how many records an Idol winner has sold (or will sell), Kelly Clarkson will always be considered the most successful American Idol.

There's cultural capital in getting there first, I guess.
