Big Brother 13

Shelly giving a pep talk to Keith. She's leaving on good terms with him just in case he somehow comes back I bet. Good social game from her.

So I don't know if this has been brought up yet already so forgive me if it has but I was just thinking how great a twist it would be to mix up the partners for one week and watching everyone scramble to figure out who they want to save or get rid of knowing there is a possibility they would go back to their old partners the following week.

What really would have been interesting is if everyone had a different partner each week for those first four weeks.

Guys, I don't think Ragan is defending Jeff at all. And I say this as someone who can't stand Ragan. He correctly calls Jeff's comments homophobic and even said this: "Jeff wasn’t kidding around. He said what he said with passion and conviction, and even discredited Kalia, whose sister is a lesbian, when she tried to correct him. I’m happy people are discussing how Jeff’s words perpetuate false myths about gay men."

He's merely using Jeff's ignorance to make a larger statement about the larger problem of socialized homophobia. He doesn't excuse Jeff or pretend it's not homophobic, which is more than I can say for so many Jeff and Jordan fans out there.

Ragan's commentary was actually really thoughtful, well-articulated, and sensible.

In my opinion, comparing Jeff to Hitler is as misguided and ignorant as the comments Jeff made. Don't battle ignorance with ignorance, it'll get you nowhere

Ugh. Lowan and Kalia are talking alone and they both agreed that neither one of them wants to win the next HOH. They totally plan to throw it. They also joke that they kind of want Jeff/Jordan to win the next HOH because they think it'll keep them safe longer. Sigh. This might actually be good for their game, but I hate it because it means Dom and Cassi really are on their own.

If Dom or Cassi doesn't win tomorrow, then one of them is going home. :(

Ragan does make good points. But to me, he totally negates all those points by saying "Jeff is such a good friendly guy." And he basically absolves Jeff from responsibility for his actions. Then I guess nobody who is racist, sexist, or homophobic should ever be called to task.

Because we live in a racist, sexist, and homophobic world, i guess no one is at fault for any bad behavior. It's not gay bashers fault they beat up and kill gay or perceived gay people, it's because we don't learn gay history in high school I suppose.

Why is it that my friends, most of whom are straight guys, are able to deprogram the homophobic brainwashing that they are subjected to in America and treat myself and other gay people with decency, kindness, love and respect, but Jeff shouldnt be expected to do that?

ANd I never compared Jeff to Hitler. Jeff is smart enough.

But this is the most vital part of trying to understand and change a larger cultural problem. Acknowledging that even good, nice, reasonable people ARE affected by socially accepted bigotry. It's so much EASIER to believe that people who do evil or hurtful things are somehow different than us that they're not nice that they're not good that they're so different that we don't have to be mindful or our actions or afraid of falling into those patterns because we aren't one of THOSE people. But in the end of the day the scariest part about the Holocaust was not Hitler it was EVERYONE ELSE because they let it happen. And guess what every person in Germany was not some ridiculous Sadist that tortured puppies, nor were the millions of people who acclimated to it. That's the scariest and most confounding affect of such group mentalities that people can learn to disregard any sort of natural discomfort, sympathy, or compassion IF society tells them it's unwarranted. It's a mob mentality that is in a constant state of being. We need to be able to indict a society without indicting each individual in it as uniquely as "wrong" as the roles it condones. Realistically the only way such deep rooted bigotry will ever change is for people to acknowledge it in themselves and seek to make a change and actively stop themselves from passing it down and people will never admit such flaws in their own minds if they see them linked to some sort of different level of bad human.

To me it seems like Ragan is just taking the position that will generate the most attention. I don't know if he believes it or not. I just know that if he had condemned it like most people it wouldn't have made it to this thread.

You've got to be kidding me. Ragan was being a little bitchy over-the-top queen. He totally started with Rachel. He pretended to be her friend when she was still in the game then turned on her. She was totally blind sided. While he pretended to be her friend, she was very supportive of him and listened to him complain about his relationships with guys.

He got in her face and started cursing, finger waving, and eye/neck rolling. He was behaving like a straight up bitch. He was being a total cliche stereotype so why is it so wrong to call him out? THIS is the real PC bullshit. it's like gay people can act any crazy way they want and if anyone says something back they're homophobic.

I didnt take what Rachel said as homophobic at all. Ragan was acting so out of character to the person she knew in the house. To me she was asking if he thinks, HE needs to act like a bitch b/c he's gay, and he is clinging to gay stereotypes.

You're right, gay men that act like queens totally deserve to be bashed. She had every right to use his sexuality against him. Ragan rolled his eyes and neck so guys should never do that or else they're the problem.

What ragan said about rachel backstabbing and talking about people behind their backs is totally irrelevant, lets put all the blame on the feminite gay man for being too over-the top.

Was that the blow-up on the show last night with Keith that everyone was talking about? Or did CBS take that out too?

Is Lawon gay? I know he is but I thought I heard in the beginning him saying that he was straight.

Lawon said on feeds that he is bisexual...said he get's hard and masturbates thinking of women. He may have said he's been with women...I don't recall for sure that

Keith's rant...I'm not sure but I think that happened in the few days before the feeds went live.

oh ok...I vaguely remember that

after watching the new clip...I'm really torn with what to think. I mean I genuinely like Jeff (seeing as I didn't know this side of him), and watching him get so angry with Kalia...I'm not understanding what's going on in his head. Is he getting really angry because this is how he truly feels or is he just completely misunderstanding the whole conversation and thinks Kalia is putting words in his mouth? Like, he was getting really revved up over it and it wasn't the type of conversation that warranted it, it didn't really seem from the 2 minute clip I saw that Kalia was instigating anything. Doesn't seem like the Jeff that I've come to know over the past few years he's been on TV. Don't know what to think about it...obviously I don't agree with what he said...it's ridiculous (as was the whole conversation)...but on the other hand I really like him and this takes him down many notches (also the fact that NO ONE jumped in and said anything besides Kalia is frustrating)

Jeff is inferring that a gay man cannot work in a school with children because they are pedophiles. If that isn't enough to make you change your mind I don't know what else to tell you. HE THINKS GAY PEOPLE ARE PEDOPHILES.

Well I didn't say I didn't change my mind about him...I said it took him down many notches in my book...but it doesn't completely change the fact that I find him fun and nice and attractive to watch on TV. Like in my real life, one character flaw, especially one that CAN be changed, is not enough for me to stop completely liking someone. Sorry if you don't agree with that.

What are the chances that Keith is actually going home tonight? I really want to see that happen, cause that guy is just straight up annoying.

He was talking about his game play....he said, "if they want me to be straight...I'll be straight. If they want me to be gay...I'll be gay".

I haven't watched the feeds today so I don't know if the Newbies got their shit together, but my prediction is that Keith will be evicted. I say that only because there's so much waffling from Kalia and Shelley and both of them would have to fall in line for this to work out, and odds are that won't happen.

The worst result would be if Adam and Lowan voted with them, making Dom and Cassi the only recalcitrant votes and therefore, the biggest targets.

Ugh. Kalia and Shelley are determined to be the Jun/Allison of this season.

Dom/Cassi/Adam HAVE to win HOH (Lowan will throw it) otherwise my faves are fucked.

OK it's totally unfair that they let Rachel determine the order since she obviously stacked it so the vets would go last and they'd know how much they had to beat the newbies by (and so Jeff and Brendan could throw it to Jordan thereby allowing them both to play for HOH next week). Totally fucking unfair!

Well, said goodbye to Dom or Cassi. One of them is going home.:(
