Re: Big Brother 16
The BOB twist --which they took WAY too long to retire -- ruined the season for me. The twist made it impossible for the power to shift since the dominant alliance had two shots at the HOH each week, and anyone outside the alliance who won HOH had no incentive to put up competition threats since they would likely win the Battle of the Block and dethrone the HOH.
I actually preferred BB14 much more to this season because it had people like Dan and Britney, who I love, and the Danielle stalks Shane storyline played out hilariously on the feeds. And my god, people complained about Dan dominating that season but at least he had hurdles to overcome. Dan was dead in the water when Frank won HOH and had to pull that Hail Mary to stay in the house, and his efforts to get rid of Ian were constantly thwarted by Ian's clutch-comp wins, with Ian ultimately wining the game. Derrick on the other hand never had any opposition, was never in jeopardy, and never provided us a night on the feeds like Dan's funeral. BB14 had its moments (and it was ever so satisfying to see Boogie get the boot) while BB16 was a flat line.
