Big Brother 16 (US Version)

Re: Big Brother 16

The worst part isn't Caleb's comments but the yahoos who will inevitably defend him just because they think he's cute. To this day, BB fans defend Jeff's overt homophobia. BB fans are truly the worst, making me perennially embarrassed to be watching this dog and pony show.

What particularly pissed me off was when Frankie was all over Jeff during the pre-show interviews. If he's as much of a "super-fan" as he claims to be he would certainly know the comments Jeff made and like any normal person not be all buddy buddy with him.

Oh trust me: gays, minorities and women can be just as bad to gays, minorities and women as straight white men.

stamp..

i dont understand that as well, its like you could cleaarly see JEFF was uncomfortable. Guys need to understand, you are a dude stopp acting like a girl unless the str8 guy is comfortable. i see why some gay men gets knocked out cause they act like this.

i really dont know who i even like yet in this cast.

I think the 2 girls in the glasses look interesting.

Re: Big Brother 16

Big Brother casts always look lame until the show starts for me. Last year I thought the cast was sucky even after the first episode, but once things actually started going down, I changed my mind tenfold.

Re: Big Brother 16

And then when it got down to the Final 3, you changed your mind back.

Re: Big Brother 16

LOL^^^ too funny

i was done after elissa was eliminated. i would have prefered spencer to win over andy and vagina marie

Re: Big Brother 16

Even with the lackluster end-game situation I was still way more invested in BB15 than BB12 or BB14. I'd say BB13 too but we all know how much of a Rachel Reilly stan I am...

I always feel the same way too. The cast is such a major disappointment for me when it comes out, then when I start watching I get invested.

Re: Big Brother 16

Wow... so in Survivor news, Caleb Bankston from Survivor: Blood vs. Water died today. Only the third Survivor contestant to die. Totally unexpected. RIP. :(

Re: Big Brother 16

Re: Caleb. I liked the guy. Don't/didn't get how he ever hooked up with Colton but to each his own. I am sorry to hear of his tragic passing. RIP :(

Re: Big Brother 16

Drama on top of drama wrapped in drama and sprinkled with so many shake ups it's
but first...

Okay, Cody is HOT
Yum, with a spoon

Re: Big Brother 16

The season just half-started and already I'm 100% exhausted by the stupid twists. This show is way too dumb to be this complicated.

Re: Big Brother 16

So shotgun thoughts on the first episode:

Paola-Was sure I was going to want her gone BEFORE she stepped foot in the house and now that she's there I want her gone even faster.

Frankie-Not as annoying as I assumed he would be but not totally likable. Doesn't seem too stupid either but we'll see.

Cody-So apart from having a hot brother and a dad who likes to practically make out with him, he's not bad. His little "bromance" with Frankie could be fun to watch. His impending showmance with multiple girls will not be, however.

Donny and Nicole- Love them. Hands down my favorites. I really hope it stays that way.

Joey-Has the potential to get super annoying but for now she seems pretty sensible being the one to point out, at least away from everyone that they were making alliances way too fast. But then again, pretty much outing your alliance during the competition...

Devin-Sure he's got a great smile and hot body but I find myself very distracted with the way that he speaks and moves his hands. It's way exaggerated as if he's some kind of actor or something. It's very off putting.

Amber-Who?

Re: Big Brother 16

So I think I'm actually going to start watching Big Brother starting with this season. It's partially due to Frankie being there (Which is weird, I don't follow him on Twitter or YouTube and have no interest in what he does, I think it's mainly because knowing someone who is slightly a celebrity going on a reality show always intrigues me) I never was interested in it, but I think I will give it a shot. I unfortunately already know the winners of seasons 13 to 15, but I don't know any winners beyond that. I think I will actually watch it because there aren't as many seasons as Survivor (I'm still trying to watch it, but I haven't finished season 1 yet) I have watched all of The Amazing Race (Been a fan since early 2012) and I feel like I should watch at least two of the big three. I really wanted to get into Survivor, but 28 seasons? Big Brother only has 15, so I think it will be much easier to get into because I don't have to sit through more than that.

I watched the first part of the premier a couple of minutes ago, and my thoughts so far are:

Paola or however you spell it (The DJ) is annoying (Okay, mostly her voice) I like that she's a DJ, but she has too much of a generic girly personality for me to like her.

Donny is so far the one I like the most (However, he hasn't had much screen time) he seems very nice and I would definitely form an alliance with him. But I don't see him going that far.

Cody is also an early favorite of mine (Doesn't hurt he's cute) but he hasn't had much screen time either. I feel like everyone will like him and he will make it pretty far, but I think someone will backdoor him.

Frankie probably has the most personality so far of the eight I have seen. He seems like he could form an alliance and be a really good player, I just hope he doesn't argue with anyone (Which will be his saving grace, as long as he doesn't start drama and cause everyone to hate him, I think he will make it to at least the Jury)

Joey I like, but I barely saw any of her.

Nicole I thought I was gonna hate (She gave me floater/hide behind a man vibes) but I actually really like her. She is very quirky which is nice.

These are pretty much the only people that stood out to me, everyone else is vanilla. However, this is only the first episode so once the other eight come in and we see more personalities from the first eight, I can't make any official opinions.

Re: Big Brother 16

Thoughts as I watch through the first episode:
-Thank you tiny baby Jeebus for this season being in HD.

-Chenbot was crushin' in the intro.

-I knew they were going to go overboard on the Ariana Grande shit but it was even worse than I thought. Never even heard of this chick but she's "one of the most famous people on the planet!!" according to her brother. Haha yeah okay. Also you're at a 13 when you need to be at a 3 on the obnoxious scale.

-Devin is easily the hottest guy out of these first four for me but I'm sure Cody is going to be the one who gets the most attention from the gays and the cat ladies. "I want to know where the nickname Pao-Pao comes from!" Gee, I dunno, it's her name, you goof.

-I really hate when they don't send in the entire cast at the same time, like how they sent in the exes late in BB4 or the enemies later in BB8. The "originals" never really do stick together the whole time but it does increase the chance of the early weeks being predictable.

-The cast overall seems okay so far. Nice mix of personalities and crazy people. The first four women could deliver except maybe Amber who seemed a little quiet (definitely a far cry from Seahag on the lulzometer, but she's pretty). And El Cuatro makes my heart aflutter of course.

-I have to agree with Sgt. Pepper. The twists this season are extremely convoluted for a game of social strategy. The dual HOH thing just places even MORE emphasis on winning competition and forces the losing HOH to reveal his or her hand for no benefit. Team America of course is stupid and looks like America's Player only in alliance form.

I hadn't even really thought about the fact that if you are the "losing" HOH, people know what you want in that house. The first thing I said, aloud to myself yesterday while watching, mind you, was "why would anyone WANT to win HoH?" No guaranteed safety and of course like you said, you become an even bigger target than you would have been if you don't remain in control.

I think it would have been interesting to have one HOH per group of 8 each week for the first 4 weeks. Each HOH picks two houseguests from the other set of 8 and can't pick anyone from their own 8, creating an automatic alliance whether they want it or not. The kicker would be that each HOH is also eligible for nomination. If either of the HOH's nominated each other, thats it, you're done and your nominees come off the block, the other two stay and a regular veto comp is held. If they both nominate each other, then they have a Battle of the Block comp involving only the 4 nominees and the two that win remain on the block, no veto. Perhaps my way also adds to the overall convulsion, though.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Big Brother airs 3 times a week, so while Survivor may have more seasons, I almost guarantee that Big Brother has more episodes to slog through. And I use the word slog because the Sunday episodes of Big Brother tend to be a total snore.

Re: Big Brother 16

It's probably a closer number than you'd expect. I just finished watching BB2 and it was 30 episodes. Most Survivor seasons are 13-14 episodes, but there are two seasons per year versus BB's one. BB probably would have been ahead anyway, but they did also do the extra season in 2008.

That being said, BB is definitely the easier show to access. All fifteen seasons are up on Youtube ready to watch. Survivor, since it's taken a little bit more seriously and airs during the actual television season, is pulled for copyright when fans upload it there. It also has legit DVDs for most of the seasons, but many of them are made to order on Amazon.com and not rentable/streamable from Netflix.

GOD I know. I wanted to like him but he's already worn out his welcome.

Also slip maybe you've heard this?
