There's always had a gang mentality at JUB. JUBber A dislikes JUBber B, so all of JUBber A's friends dislike JUBber B and then the sniping begins. Kind of like grade school. We'd be much better off responding to what people say instead of to personalities. That's easier said than done, however, but not as much fun, either.

I don't think Americans are obsessed with race/racism, just more inclined to talk about it than pretend it doesn't exist the way many other countries do. Then again, even in America where conversations about racial issues are more commonplace, I still see a whole lot of frustration from POC over their issues being hand waved or swept under the rug by people who don't want to acknowledge them.

This. Though I do think race is the dominant, but not the only, paradigm in America. Just like ethnicity, religion, language or caste might be in other countries.
