Book Recommendations

For those who enjoy an India Jones/Da Vinci Code sort of read, I can recommend The Last Gospel by David Gibbins.

For sheer impossible chase and escape, blood and excitement there is The whole Truth by David Baldacci.

Neither are in the erotic/porn genre but for pure entertainment they are worth a read.

I'd like to read something that IS in the erotic/porn genre or at least has really hot sex in it. But it has to actually be well written, with a story, unlike 99% of the trash that's out.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Already 47 postings and no one mentions The Front Runner by Patricia Nell Warren? I love this book. Since that it is one of the often talk-about title, I believe it should be mentioned here.

Well, it's about the love affair between a young athlete and his coach. Since that they both respect the boundaries, the young man suffers. Things bloom beautifully for them when they accept one another and explore the path of relationship.

Ratrat, you have to try Mark Kendrick's books - Desert Sons. I remember it to have erotic contents and a passable storyline too. Unless you want heavy stuff such as Faggots by Larry Kramer.

Anything by Mark A. Roeder is good, albeit riddled with typos (at least, the signed copy I found at Powell's was...). Definitely read one of the books in his little gay youth series (it's not like little kids, more like young adults, not teenagers).

I also have a question to anyone out there who might know: I'm looking for a copy of the book "The Soccer Field Is Empty" (by Roeder) but I'm trying to find a copy that has the photo for the cover, not the one with the picture of the poorly-drawn, overly-muscular anime boys for a cover. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can find a copy??? :help:

I've recently read What Love Means to You People, by NancyKay Shapiro. It's a great story, but I'm amazed that a woman could write amazing gay sex scenes. I mean, amazing.

Really? Somehow, that doesn't surprise me at all... Maybe that's because I recently found out Robin Reardon was a woman and not a man like I initially thought after reading A Secret Edge and Thinking Straight. I felt so cheated, even though it wasn't really a big deal, lol.

Have any of you read the "Outlander" Series of Historical Fiction by Diana Gabaldon? The latest book, "An Echo in the Bone" is out. Aside from being a very good read, there are recurring characters of a more genteel persuasion, including "Lord John Grey and the Private Matter" being a spin-off of the main series. Lord John has a couple of books.

Even the straight sex and masculine attributes are well intimated at times, to give you a bit of a rise while reading about 18th C. Scotland/20th England/US/18th US - keeps you bouncing along with our characters.

It takes her 3 years to come out with a tome, but it is well worth the read.

Hey guys, I finally joined after being a lurker for forever. And I've got to say I'm a huge fan of this side of the forum. Not really a writer myself but I love reading these stories.

So what really got me to join was this question that popped up:

I want to find a really sad, romantic, but realistic novel. Something that makes your heart skip a beat and you can't put it down because you relate to it kind of book. (but gay themed, obviously lol) I mean, I've read stories on this forum from hardcore to heart warming, but either they aren't ever finished or they aren't what i was looking for.:( My favorite one, though incomplete at the moment, is Define Love (its in like the 3rd or 4th page of the Stories forum atm) I was wondering if you guys have ever read anything like that? For me it makes me think twice about who I am and where I really want to be. It makes me question my outlook on life. Cliched? But its true. :-) I'll probably look up Holding The Man or something along the lines of that but help me out?

I guess my reason behind looking for such a book is because I want to find hope that real love exists out there for me. Basically i just want to find something I can relate to. Maybe I wouldn't mind crying my heart out for the characters. My life isn't based all around sex and all that, but rather I wish I could love and be loved?](*,) Maybe you guys could offer a bit of your stories/novels/etc that you've ever come across.

Anyway have a nice day guys ..|

My new favorite book is Will Grayson, Will Grayson by David Levithan and John Green. It's about two suburban Chicago teens, one gay, one straight, with the same name. Their paths cross, and so do their friends and families.

I hate to see this thread down. I hope someone will keep suggest books that they read.

Recently I finish Miami Manhunt and Boston Boys Clubs by Johnny Diaz. it is about a cuban find his life in Miami. It is a easy reading. nothing heavy

for Erotica I read Every frat boy wants it by Todd Gregory. A sexy and touching story

I also finished He's is the one and It had to be you by Timothy James Beck.

I just finished Robin and Ruby, K.M. Soehnleins follow up to The World of Normal Boys It's set a few years later, in the early 80's. A fun summer read, and if you loved the first one, you will enjoy the squeal.

Also, I picked up Marc Acito's How I Paid for College, a novel of sex, theft, friendship and musical theater and I loved it. It follows a bisexual character and his group of friends trying to prepare for their Freshmen year at Juilliard. I loved it and finished it in about a day. Set in the 80's its very Perks of being a Wall flower but a little more light hearted. It gives great references to a wonderful culture.

I don't know if anybody has posted it yet but I highly recommend Something like summer. Just finished it for the second time on my kindle and its amazing. Its by jay bell

I bought David Leddicks "I don't kiss" on a whim this summer, I am currently on my fourth or fifth read... great book about a young man coming to terms with who he is and who he will be become... And there's a great love story involved. recommend for anyone who loves readying about high society/Theatre/Hollywood... It will not disappoint

I just finished The Road Home by Michael Thomas Ford. The story is well tell It brings out the issue of come to term with who you are and things in front of you but you fail to recognize it. I will recommend to anyone who love read.
