Spanking will not prevent people from setting other people on fire.....

:\

They're sick kids. End of story.

We can rant and rave of how proper schools, parent or prayer in school could have prevented it but we never know.

Honestly, some people are just bad to the bone.

I was reading about this last night... The argument was over a video game. He was doused with rubbing alcohol and set on fire. He ran to a swimming pool and jumped in. He has second degree burns over 80 per cent of his body.

http://kdka.com/topstories/teen.on.fire.2.1244811.html

Two of the teens laughed about it when they were arrested. I don't know what to say about kids who do these kinds of crimes. No one can say they didn't really understand what they were doing. They're too young for prison. Can they be rehabilitated? What do you do with them? Do you simply give them a warning and release them back into society? Will that only embolden them to try somethng else, to see how far they can push the law?

Meanwhile, the 15-year-old will face years of recovery. The article I read last night mentioned that it was too soon to know whether he would live or die, saying that he could still face organ failure.

Get the kids to work for free ... and give them a punishment/reward system if the break the rules.

I think this is the result of the lack of values in our society, but really I am just stunned. Un - fucking - believable. They should all be charged as adults. I know many will say treat them and release them, but can they ever be trusted? I just don't know

Wow! I can't even imagine how young people think sometimes these days.

I think the problem goes beyond insufficiencies in parenting today. Kids are exposed to so much more than we were (at least me) growing up. We didn't have the Internet, or Youtube, or anything like that to fuel our anger or imagination.

If my parents were raising me and my siblings today, they would probably be brought up on child abuse charges. They weren't cruel; just strict. There was no such thing as "time out" in the corner. If we screwed up, we got our asses whooped!

With instant world news and communication pertaining to everything that's 'newsworthy', we've become desensitized to what might have been mind-boggling in the past.

Today's kids have to come up with much more to make it seem effective in their bullying, and in the process, some kids become victims of stuff like this. It's really sad, in my opinion.

just shoot them, there are enough people on the planet without having it further polluted by ones that would do things like this to others.
Maybe it would make people wake up and take responsibility for their actions in future.

Juvenile crime has actually gone down... not up as these stories make us think it has. Having said that, these boys needs to be locked up as long as possible... a pity four of them can only get 15 years max. They need more time then that before they can be returned to society.... if at all.

True story.

I have a friend who was, back in Saskatchewan as a kid in high school, was set on fire for being percieved as gay.

He survived.

Oddly enough, ALL the guys invovled in the act were, over a period of time, killed in various traffic accidents.

My friend went back years later and litterally danced on their graves saying... "You're dead but I'm still alive."

The kiddies should be, when old enough, chemically castrated... can't have the psycho/sociopaths reproducing.

That remains me of a TV movie i watched many years ago.
But the story was, years later guys in their 40s, the victim took revenge by killing them one by one until they were all gone.

kids that young.
parents are always to blame.

I'd think that 99.99999% of all 6 year olds should have the mental capacity to know that humans are NOT candles. And no, no matter how much you hate someone, you don't BURN them - unless you're living in the dark ages and the person you're burning is a witch.

So who's to blame? THE KIDS WHO LIT THE FIRE!

The problem starts much younger then this.. Babysat by TV's Video games, and now the internet. I have intervened in families with children as young as 5 acting out severely. I always appreciate the parents that insist they have good discipline and then cannot even remember to control their child in public or remove them. If a child has not learned controls by 5 it is too late.

And the next parent that tells me they do not use drugs with an ash tray full of roaches in front of them I am going to strangle. People actually believe that if they use this method of self medication rather then drinking or many of the other older problems they are somehow better then the Alcoholic parent.

Being a parent and having children should not be a right you should have to get a liscence and take courses and pass drug screening.

They're sociopaths. Lock them up and forget about them. There's no curing that level of evil.

kids that young.
parents are always to blame.

Bullshit........there ARE ROTTEN KIDS that NO amount of parenting will repair.

Parents might be to bame for a LOT of things but not EVERYthing...... :grrr:

In an Arabic country, they would have paid a very heavy price. Sometimes, people like this need to pay heavily...they ruined his life. :(

OMFG!

I almost threw up!

What horrible kids. They need to rot in a cell for the rest of their life.

Oh I remember on TV once a bunch of girls used a box cutter and cut the fuck out a girl's face. That was vicious.

I say the punishment should fit the crime. There are so many teens and young people and punks. They will beat up homeless people, harm animals, steal, and hurt others and just laugh about it and than LIE. LIE TO THE COURTS, LIE TO THE JURY, LIE THROUGH THEIR FUCKING TEETH. They are sick shits.

The punishment should fit the crime. If they think it's fucking funny guess what. YOUR ASS IS GONNA GET LIT ON FIRE BITCH.

You cut up a girl's face. Well hope you saw yourself in the mirror one last time.

People write it off and go "Oh they're just kids" or "They don't know what their doing." They damn well know what their doing and they don't give a damn and it only gets worse with age.

For some reason for this generation. It's pretty obvious that teenagers are fucked up or have fucked up minds. However, there is a HUGE HUGE difference between laughing at something such as pain, misfortunes, and actually causing them. We all laugh at other people's expenses. Some more than others.

I really think that something is fucked up with them mentally and they are just unfeeling. Doesn't give em an excuse though.

And wasn't the term "fag". Diddn't that originally mean to burn wood or something or a reference with burning gays?. I thought that's where the meaning came from.

But yeah. They should definately get lit on fire.

And maybe roast some marshmallows over them :D

The story is local here. Unless the story changed the argument was over a stolen bicycle and the victim apparently told on one of the kids.

They released the 911 tapes and they are horrible to hear that poor kid screaming in the background.

He is also not out of the woods, as he is healing there can be major infections, also his lungs and kidneys might be damaged.

He is a very handsome blond kid and his face was not burned. The burns were
mostly second degree, but he is still in very bad shape.

Lets all pray for the best.

If I were a relative of that child what I would do would put me in jail.

The 5 teens involved deserve the maximum sentence. I think one may be charged with attempted murder. He should be sentences as an adult, be house with kids, and when he is 18 be put in with the big boys.
