Today you "subscribe" to threads. In the new forum, you "watch" threads. Same function.

If you're in a long thread and you want to save your place, there's a bookmark function where you can mark one or more posts in a thread along with a reminder message.

If you have been staying logged into JUB, make sure you know your password- you will need that password to sign in the first time.

Once you have signed in, you can stay signed in like you do today.If you don't remember your password, change it now before we move over to the XenForo. Write it down somewhere if you need to.

Make sure that the email address in your profile is up-to-date. We can use that email to send you communications like password reset information.

A minor point: what about someone who hasn't logged in for years, forgotten his password, changed email address, then comes back and can't get in because they've changed the locks? Would it mean starting again with a new account?

Also, will we still see the rotating meat rack at the top of the page? I find it quite restful.

If their account is still existing in today's JUB, we will bring it over to the new forum. If all else fails and they can't remember their old password or old email address, they would need to request a password reset. We're trying to avoid that scenario by encouraging everyone to make sure they know their current password and check to make sure they have a current email address in their profile before we move to the new forum.

Yes. It also includes a drag-and-drop interface.

It also adds image posting for animated gifs from Giphy. There's additional features for embedding media from Dailymotion, Facebook, Flickr, Giphy, Imgur, TikTok, Tumblr, Twitch, Twitter, Vimeo, as well as YouTube.

I think you can do that today if you're a JUB supporter? In the past, those features were linked to post counts or premium membership. XenForo adds a lot of new cool features and we're still in the process of going through those but if a user can use an animated avatar today, they will be able to use one when we move to XenForo.

Sometimes any meat is good meat.

There are some members who network in the JUB Facebook group, so that integration would be handy to link to a JUB thread from Facebook.

Given that I usually consider anything in the past as rotten or, at the very least, outdated, I can't but welcome any change on this site, even if it were for the worse: it has been acting so more rottenly than myself, that I had considered leaving for good only because of the software quirks.

We will have some of these for sure. All the emails for JUB go to me so there is some users that won't be able to login and it's no issue assisting them. Also the mods could help them as well if they are contacted.

As it is currently configured, you will still be “informed” by text appearing in a thin banner within the thread that the member you are ignoring has added content to the thread.

I don’t facebook, but what you are requesting is to make the other member’s content become entirely invisible. Correct?

I think that could be done.​

I would be interested, as an option, to be able to make a member's content become entirely invisible. However, I would also like the option to have it work as it does at this time. If I HAD to choose between the two options, I would want to keep it working like it does at this time.

It is my impression that you could choose either option for each user that you ignore. You would also be able to prevent an ignored user from seeing your content.

I’m thrilled! My only computer is this iPhone, and using the full version of JUB on it is impractical, to put it kindly. I’ve had to rely on the mobile version for years, and this has made my pics impossible to view for many users. So this is great news for me… thanks!
