And YOU can't deny that that "song" is her talking and being auto-tuned to sing one note while a drum machine plays a repetitive rhythm and the keyboard plays one note.

You can say it's great she's number one but all it means is that marketing works. That "song" is a piece of shit and her "fans" are idiots for falling for the whole train wreck.

thats the surprising thing actually..the song wasn't expected before it was released to Debut @ #1 because Britney has done no promotion so far for the single...all it was just the song..no marketing..not even interviews..like some of her previous hits..there was promotion...

That's my point: Britney is popular and people love her. The song is popular and people love it. Whether you think it's warranted or not.

I'm not even sure when this was ever the case. I do know back in the 90s they had to print two extra charts - "Top 100 Airplay" and "Top 100 Sales", because with the demise of the physical single, the two didn't have much to do with one another. I do know they now have some utterly bizarre formula which factors in everything from album sales (if one is available) and weighted airplay from various genres. The song actually is barely getting started on airplay - it's in the 30s, if memory serves. The song's #1 placing is due almost completely to the 250,000 people who purchased the song from download sites.

I still don't like the song. That's OK. I don't like that XX album, either.

She is more in control of her image/career than you may think. I think what the last few years have taught us is you can't make Britney do anything she doesn't want to do.

Oh, and it's not just me that makes her #1 on the charts! She had the top selling world tour of 2009 and has millions of fans. Deal with it.

In fact, I am starting to think you love her too since you keep talking about her and spending your time in a thread praising her. ;)

& thats for the fans...damn..I like many artist..never go to they main site..most of them are useless & late with news...& promotion..if u talking about blogs..thats not much promo when they give the song to download when it leaked...:confused:

promo..on radio..tv..ads.. interviews..performance..nothing done...& I had enough proving facts..which u seem stubborn to see ;)

Haha.......I'm a huge fan of both Britney and Mariah and I find it hilarious that everyones getting so pissed off when they gat bashed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If Jasun wants to come in here and go at it about Britney, then so be it. Doesn't offend me at all. I know I like her so that's all that matters......... It's actually fun watching him go back and forth with everyone. :D

OK, 90% of what I say in this thread is just me being a douche for sport.

But I really hope you're kidding with that.

Her new song - wether you like it or not - could have been sung by anyone... it's just paint-by-number pop. There was a time when all pop stars played their own instruments, wrote their own songs and spent months is the studio crafting albums like "Rumors" or "Between The Lines" or "Tapestry." Even "Like a Virgin" and "Thriller" or "Control." How about "Rhythm Nation" or "Be Yourself Tonight" or "Dream of the Blue Turtles?"

Now you just need an auto-tune. a keyboard sound, some echos and some slutty lyrics like "F.U.C.K. Me" or "Gimme Gimme Gimme More" or "I like 3-ways" or "I'm a Slave For you" or.. you get the point.. instant number 1 single... just add water.

If you like it, that's fine... but if you claim that she's a "real" pop star who like... sings and plays the piano and writes songs and stuff... well.. she's not. She might write a few lyrics here and there but that doesn't make her a "song writer."
