I unblocked and really....is this necessary? No. It's not. Many people are trying to make an effort here to settle this thing and be mature. Both sides. Gaga fans started this thing today and Brit fans started back with trending GagaHBO. Both sides are clearly making an effort to come together as one and I think that's pretty powerful. Britney Spears has made some really nice songs. But she doesn't sing live and she hasn't danced well ever since her "comeback" album Blackout came out (by the way I thought blackout was fantastic). She just prances around lipsynching on a stage with 10 background dancers, who all dance way better than her.

When compared to her peers like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and even Kesha she comes up short because she has the charisma of a banana. Nothing stands out about her. She always seems sedated.

I downloaded Femme Fatale and its okay, but it's pretty obvious it was a work several producers with little to no input from Britney.

So here is my spill. Obviously our opinions of the other woman are influenced by us being biased towards one. But something I've discovered is, when you like that person so much and someone else attacks them it's basic instinct to fight back. You may say things you don't mean and you may try to act like you don't like the other. But if you let go, view both as two entirely different artists, then you can open yourself to a new world of music. I started listening back to old Gaga stuff tonight after I decided I would make an extreme effort. And with both together there is a huge amount of great/fun/amazing music. We can sit here and critique all day...but it's not a life or death situation. It's music..it's entertainment and that's what it's meant to do. If you think Britney isn't talented or Gaga's weird, you can at least appreciate that they give something to the music industry. You can't say they don't or haven't. They have. They both have discovered new things and brought new sounds to music. Especially at a time where illegal downloading is in it's prime and record sales are diminishing every year. The fact that they BOTH broke the same record this year is astonishing and they both deserve credit for it. There is room for both women in the industry, if people would just stop comparing for once and look at them as different artists and people. Because they are completely different artists. Gaga is in her prime right now selling like crazy. Britney is stable in her career and has her solid fan base. At least for right now, neither are going anywhere. So we can sit here all day and argue until we're blue in the face over who is better but...no one will ever win that feud. I mean Nocturnal and I have been at it for months and nothing was solved. Why? Because he's hardcore Gaga and I'm hardcore Britney. And that's not going to change...and the only way we're going to get along is to open our views to the others side. I know not everyone will agree with me, and honestly as long as I'm happy with both women that's all that matters to me. Because I will have a world of amazing music to listen to And I'm serious this time...Britney+Gaga. The world isn't ready for it.

paparazzi--absolutely meaningful
pokerface--yes, a relationship, but still it's about her sexuality and it's about real things that have happened.
BDR--meaningful, yes, because it details her life in the lower east side
boys boys boys--includes events that have happened to her and details a real life relationship she had.
brown eyes--extremely meaningful.
bad romance--another relationship song, BUT you can't tell me it's not unique
alejandro--arguably the deepest on her album.
monster--definitely deep...?
speechless--about her father and his operation
dance in the dark--about her fear of sex/self
telephone--meaningful not on the literal meaning, but the figurative meaning (but it was written for britney, so of course it wouldn't be deep).
teeth--her fear of the truth and how she struggles between desiring and hiding from the truth.
and ok, born this way wasn't the first song of its category. but do you notice how she says she's going to release a song like that...and then kesha, katy, and pink all do after? not saying they copied--i like them all--but still. no it's not new, but she includes references of her past, which make it deeper than the average "love yourself" song.
