Because she doesn't write the majority of songs she puts out. She also lip-syncs when she performs. So, we like to think that there's something about her that is worth remaining an iconic pop star for over a decade.

Some fans claim to love Britney "the person," but that's bullshit. How can you love someone you don't even know? How can you know a person if you haven't even met them?

I'm a fan of Britney's because of the fact that I grew up with her. And she used to be pretty damn good back in the day! I think her dancing has improved since "Circus," but it's still no where near what it once was. The only reason I am still a fan today is because of the music.

You know I hear a lot about these comparisons to Gaga, Katy, and Ke's success but I really don't get phased by it. It is amazing to me that Britney can still even put up a fight with these ladies at her age. Think about it. When are all female pop stars at their most successful stage? In the first couple years of their release. Look at Madonna, Britney, Christina, Rihanna, Beyonce... they all saw that record-shattering success within the first two albums of their careers. But look at them now? Do you still see any of them giving Taylor Swift or Gaga a run for their money with downloads? Do you see any of them in a neck to neck fight for radio airplay? No. They only one who still does that is Britney. She is still competition for the new-comers. The world is just getting their fill of these new girls and that's why they are so insanely huge right now. Look at Britney when she first started out! Two Diamond Albums, 1.3 million in sales in one week! That was when the public was still getting their fill on her. But still look at her now. 12 years later and she is still competing with these girls. When was the last time you saw Beyonce or Madonna smashing the first week sales record or number for radio impressions? That's right. They don't. So that's why it doesn't bother me when they compare her to these new pop stars. It's actually very flattering in my opinion. This bitch 12 years into the game can still give the fresh new meat a run for their money. Quite remarkable.

Huh? Who is that 98% you're talking about? If you're talking about Rebecca Black, Heidi Montag or William Hung I'll happily agree with you. But if you're talking about people like The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Gaga, Usher, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Adam Lambert, Pink and others then you're freaking crazy. Britney is better than what she was when Circus came out (as others said) which isn't saying much really. But saying that the lipsynching-walking-through-the-stage-flipping-her-hair-a-million-times-waving-her-arms thing you call a performance is better than what 98% of stars out there do is just crazy talk.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Britney has been extremely famous since she was 16. So since she was 16 she has had the media critique her every move. Until any of us go through what she has none of us have room to say anything. Let's relate to it.

Her virginity- something sacred...especially to a girl was spread all over newstands. Media slashed her for this.

Her breakup with Justin- her self-proclaimed first love. She was said to be a mess after this break up. Also all over every magazine.

Now, how many of us when we have a break up or have lost our virginity want the entire world to know? I can guarantee close to no one. After this hits In The Zone. Britney has said many times the reason why she hit promo so hard during this time was to get her mind off everything in her personal life. Meaning she didn't deal with it. Which will later come back to bite her(as it would anyone) in the ass.

Ok let's keep going.

Her marriage to K-Fed- She was clearly head over heels for him. All she ever wanted was to get married and settle down with a family but it's clear he wanted something different. She has kids with him and then they get a divorce. Again the whole world is following this.

Now this is all up to the point of the breakdown. Finally the breakdown and girl went through some shit. If we're going to sit her and be anti-bullying how about some anti-bullying for her? She has been bullied so much...her every move has been thrown all over the media, a lot more than other artists. And you can sit her all day and say "oh well Mariah this and Madonna that..they dealt with it so can she." So maybe she can't? We're all different people. Until our every move is released to the public and we know what it feels like to never make a move without literally everyone knowing we can all sit down and shut out mouths. Because yes she has money but it can't buy her happiness. How would you feel to never be able to walk outside without people surrounding you? She can't do that. She literally can not go outside without people there. Things that any human should be able to do. Maybe she still has major body image issues or thinks that if she lets go and falls it will be splattered more so than if she's stiff. I give her and any celebrity mad respect because even if they have money, it doesn't mean they are happy. I would hate for my life to be a magazine article every day.

With everything aside, let's just focus on Britney. No more Gaga. I love them both to death, but i'm tired of the comparisons. They're two VERY different individuals, and it just makes you look stupid if you even dared to compare them. They're polar opposites.

With her 2004 knee injury inside, I think the root of the problem is her management. Her label, and her father. The whole conservatory shit she's been under since 2007. She's locked up and she's too afraid to speak out, i'm assuming. Obviously, I don't know. But it's what I see as a fan and as an audience. I still feel like she's trapped with those words "it's like they hear, but they're really not listening." - For The Record. And also, "If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated," and that's why she goes on explaining her loss in passion. I still feel like she's in that state regardless of her progress. I mean, you can't just wake up one day and say "I CAN'T DANCE ANYMORE!" She can still do the splits, so give me a break. She can dance. She just doesn't show it.

Someone speculated that perhaps her lack of performance reflects on how she feels about her label. Possibly if she performed poorly and declined major promotions she would be dropped. Therefore she would be liberated? Just a thought.

I think her management has good intentions for the most part, but they're controlling her way too much! And using her as a money machine. Treating her like a product rather than a person. Therefore, she feels betrayed from her industry. Forget the fact that she wants to be normal. She's living the most 'normal' life right now. She loves music at the end of the day and that is her occupation. So she makes it. I don't know why someone questioned "Why doesn't she just move out?" wtf?

She's too afraid to speak out because she doesn't want to lose her kids again, and lose what she made 'normal' after her breakdown. Her kids are her sanctuary and are THE MOST important people in her life, what kind of mother would want to lose that?

But, I'm PISSED that her management is restricting her from ANY live interviews, most recently Carson Daly. Like, FUCK! Really? She's 29, not an old woman. If she can tour, make an album, she can speak for herself. She has proven she can take care of her kids. Her management needs to get the fuck off her. Once we settle that, THEN we can talk about her passion, her energy, her dancing, song writing and her use of miming.

For those that pre-ordered, did it actually work? It didn't work for me, so I just cancelled and directly purchased the album.

Femme Fatale is a solid, fun, dance album that feels like a true followup to Blackout. I will most definitely be playing this during my workouts and when I'm on my way out. Unlike with Circus I didn't download any leaks just streamed a few times to get a feel of the album. So my favorite tracks are shifting all over now that I own a copy. "Inside Out" is still my crack, "Seal it With a Kiss" has grown on me, "Up n' Down" should have been on the standard, and "Criminal" is a nice departure from all the club bangers.

Bottom line is I feel as one of her biggest sources for news out there, I, in the end, have no power. Just like many of you say you want to hear it from Britney's mouth that she's unhappy about this, I'd like to hear her say she IS happy about this. What I have seen is her cry saying her life is too in control and that she feels like a prisoner. Then some say 'that was in 2008 get over it.' EXACTLY. It was 3 years ago and nothing legally about it has changed, and that's public record. I think she doesn't say anything about it (IN MY OPINION) because she's given up; it's easier and probably a healthier way to cope with her situation by just giving in and going along with it. Hey, at least this way she gets to see her kids. But, they keep such a tight leash on her that no one is allowed in, no one can interview her live in fear of what she could say, and no one HAS heard her talk freely and candidly about any of this. And it probably saddens a lot of you that your idol and inspiration is in a shitty situation so you refuse to believe or buy into any of it. I just ask you to step out of your bubble for one moment and at least FATHOM the possibility that this could be worse then you think and there is something going on legally that is unjust. I promise you I would not spend hours of my life every day on an artist that I truly didn't love and care about (Google: parasocial interaction). This isn't for money, for hits, for fame or anything. It's because I CARE.

But as long as everyone gets a paycheck in the end of the day, including myself, then who really gives a shit, right?
