I recall seeing the acrylic toilet seats somewhere a long time ago. They were awful.

The dual toilet thing looks like a commercial installation in a very old building. I'm betting it was a code thing that required a second toilet for capacity purposes, and the owner said 'fine, I'll install another one!' which met said code. One of them is pretty vintage so they weren't installed at the same time.

The hot tub/kitchen combo looks like a basement upgrade...hot tub and wet bar. I can see someone doing that (I have weird friends).

I have no idea about the tiny curtains, though. I will ask around at work today! Yeah, WTF!

The toilet on the right appears to be the newer of the two, and though I can't be sure due to the quality of the photo and the angle, it doesn't seem to be installed. It looks like it's going to replace the older toilet and someone with a sense of humour decided to take the shot.

Good call! I didn't look at it that closely. Although I have seen 'dual hole' toilet installations in the UP of Michigan for the reason I mentioned

I rather think all the pictures are authentic home photos, with no Photoshopping. They are allegedly a realtor's collection of the worst of the worst.

People do insane things and blow it off with "it's my house, and I'll have it how I like it," with no care about resale.

As for the toilets, I believe they are both live and installed. The angle of the photo isn't helpful, but I believe the one on the left is lower while the one on the right is higher. If this is so, and this is the only toilet in the home or the master bath, the woman may have used the left and the man the right with both preferring heights that suited them.

At any rate, I believe they were intentional and not for concurrent use.

The installed toilet on the left has obvious stains around the base (not the shadows), and clearly visible mounting bolt that seem to be missing on the [newer model] toilet on the right.

The first rule of internet photo trickery is; Use a trashy digital mess of a .jpg.
I will never trust a crappy internet image.

The curtains have me befuddled

I'm willing to put a wager on the table. It's somewhere that doesn't have air conditioning, or a garage or addition that is susceptible to overheating. Behind the little curtains are kitchen exhaust fans, placed high up at the ceiling level to exhaust out hot air. They couldn't go through the ceiling because it is a two story house or because the do-it-yourselfer didn't know how to install a rainproof turbine.

My theory.
