Until a few weeks ago, the backlash to BMW's all-new, all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle, the iX, had been headline news.
Recent events not withstanding, BMW is still headlining the heat from angry, disgusted BMW fans over the continued "ugly-fest", from BMW's Design Studio.
At the start of February, the anger aimed at BMW was calling into question the planning of future vehicles as BMW falls behind its competition in the race to an all-electric fleet.
Exterior design is not the most important feature of any vehicle, but you do want to attract customers, as well as the admiration of bystanders.
Enter Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek, as Zeus & Hera, in their Super Bowl ad to give the BMW iX an improved image - maybe even a little love.
It does beg the question, does an electric vehicle need to be "funky" to attract customers? How about affordable?
