I wouldn't consider myself a chef or anything, but I can generally follow a recipe and have it turn out well (with enough knowledge on my own part to be able to usually be able to spot good/bad recipes when I see them)

my boyfriend... I don't even know how to describe it. we spent last weekend at his place, and on Sunday night I suggested that we cook dinner together. we go out to the store, buy a nice cut of fish and some veggies. upon getting back to his place, I discover that he doesn't have any seasonings/spices in his apartment at all. not even salt/pepper to season the fish

usually we go out to dinner with friends on Tuesday nights, but with the weather being so damnably cold, we decided to just stay in and he said he'd cook the frozen pizza that his roommate left in the freezer. I thought, "frozen pizza... not my ideal, but how can he screw this up?"

lo and behold, I get to his place at my usual time of 7:30 pm and discover that he managed to burn the thing to a crisp. thank god I picked up a salad to have as a side on the way over, because that was what I ate for dinner after having a couple polite bites of the pizza.

I can follow a recipe and make basic substitutions or additions, but god forbid I ever get a wild hare up my ass about "making the recipe interesting". Lots of failed dinners have ended up dumped in the trash by me doing that.

soooos manys folks ans ere fancys is a wonda woody spoon nos a toothpick

I can't really cook but I certainly appreciate the skill of others who can. I can make a couple of things, other than salads, but that's about it. If my family had to depend on my cooking skills, we would starve.

I love cooking and (if I may say so) am pretty good at it. Also like to try new things.

My favorite things to make are crispy fried chicken, beef stroganoff, scalloped potatoes and ham, knoephla, shrimp scampi, sweet and sour pork, beef stew in the slow cooker among other things.

My cupboard is filled with spice jars and I scour the internet looking for new recipes.

Got to be in the mood but I can make some great Italian food---and a mean roast chicken---have an amazing kitchen that is fun to cook in.

I just love to cook and have many dinner parties at my house during the holidays. Love showing off my talents in the kitchen as well as the presentation of the meal by dressing up the dining table with candles and floral display. I also make sure that I have at least 3 desserts to follow the meal as well as "Andes Chocolates" as the after dinner mints. Everyone says that I should be called "Martin Stewart"! She'd love me for a son-in-law.

lol I'm alright. But I'm not one of those people that can cook just about anything flawlessly.

I think I'm better than I give myself credit for. My main issue is that I get "comfortable" with certain dishes and stick with them. So...lack of variety becomes an issue.

I can, and do. I enjoy it quite a bit... plus, I sorta have to, otherwise I'll starve to death

I cook dinner everyday, in fact, I'm responsible for most of our meals. I love to cook and do it well, but there are times that I find it to be a pain in the ass. Especially days when I don't feel like going to the market to get what we need for dinner.....

I can cook not too bad according to people who tasted it :)
In fact I love cooking, but with my hoarder problem, it's a bit difficult to do all I would want to.

But I can't be a great cook, as I loath touching dead raw meat. Preparing a chicken is hell for me :(

I can well enough that people don't dump the food. I do a few things really well, but not many people like Welsh Beef Heart or such things, so they're usually just for me.

I enjoy baking pies a lot more.

We are both really good cooks. a lot of people are surprised that we enjoy being in the kitchen together. It seems that a lot of couples prefer not to share the cooking experience. We, on the other hand, really like hanging in the kitchen together and helping each other out even when it is clear who is the one making the meal. Last night I made the most amazing soup out of things we already had because I did not want to go to the store, it turned out so good my partner could not stop eating and ended up having three servings, yes me too. I called it "creamy potato chicken and bean soup" I made so much that we have plenty left over and I will share it with my neighbor. I am feeling quite lazy today so will again be making a meal out of things we already have, it will involve kielbasa sausage, tomatoes and pasta.

For those who would like to become better cooks; start with simple dishes and make them often until you master them, keep an ample supply of items in your freezer and pantry, always taste your food, don't be afraid to try new recipes, when things are on sale buy more than one and most importantly know how to cook in the kitchen and in the bedroom!

I am kind of a creative cook, usually I don't use recipes. I don't get fancy, just good stick to your ribs type of stuff.

Yeah, I can cook.

My favourites are the Men's Health recipes. The food editors there are experts in maximising both bang for buck and wow factor for comparatively little effort.

Yup. I love to get creative. I rarely follow recipes to the letter, and things turn out great. My guy gets pissed when I do cause he works so hard and sometimes it's a flop. He would just feed it to the deer in his forest. He had the fattezt deer I've ever seen.

I can cook. Although, tonight's experiment...Cincinnati Chili...didn't turn out to be very good.

I wouldn't say I can cook. However, I do cook. Mostly because I have to. I can't afford to eat out, so it's cook, or starve...
