  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Can you remember the name of your first elementary teacher?

Back in 1956, I went off to first grade 5wk. before I turned 6. Had to take the school bus, driven by Mr. Graham.

My teacher was Miss Evelyn Albright. She was also the organist at my Dad's church, so I knew her already. At the time, she drove a gray '52 Chevy.

A few years ago, Dad forwarded me a letter he'd gotten from "Eve". It was beautifully handwritten. She was, then, 93. Still living in the same house, never married, and though no longer teaching, or playing the organ, still driving! She claimed I had been her all-time favorite student.

We moved after my first school year.

And, yes, I remember all of my other teachers, in all the other schools, in all the other places. I didn't dislike any of them. And though each had their own impact on me, there were some favorites.

Thinking back, I realize just how much I owe those people! They taught me well! (Eventhough I was usually the class clown!)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

kindergarten: Mrs. Peters
1st: Mrs. Eddy
2nd: Mrs. Rollinger
3rd: Mrs. Keifer
4th: Mrs Yasher
5th: Mr. Widen
6th: Mrs. Hannah

Then it was off to jr high school and it's funny becuase I can only remember a few of their names. Grade school on the other hand I can rattle them right off and not even think about it.

1. Mrs rogers
2. Miss yomata (she taught us origami)
3. Nope
4. Miss Head then got married half wat through and became Mrs. Pallet (no lie)
5. Mrs. Poles
6. Mr. Law
7. Mr. mason
8. Mr. Gibson

When I think back on it, they were some pretty twisted people.

Hell! This is very hard. I cannot for the likes of me remember one teacher in grade school, nor the four in High school, At the Uni, they were all men and a different one for every subject. Some never lasted the year for whatever reason.

Come to think of it, I can only remember one teacher who I had in first and third University. A history teacher who later went into politics. He gave me the love of both subject. Mr. Omer was his name.

Am I glad I am not on Who wants to be a Millionaire. LOL

This is going back a half-century, but I still remember my very first teacher. It was in kindergarten and I was the first in my family to attend it. My teacher's name was Miss McCauley. (I'm not sure of the spelling.)

I had my own grandmother as a teacher in Grade 2. That was an interesting year.

The only name I remember from juniors is Mr Sellars. He was kind of my dad away from home at the time. He used to do a trick where he would wiggle his ears without touching them which made me laugh.

I will always remember the bitch of a teacher who tried to make my life hell though in high school. Mrs Potter. What i'd give just to have five minutes alone with her, not to inflict violence but to let her know how devious her behaviour was to me at the time.

I remember my Kindergarden teacher. His name was Mr. Tear. I remember him well because I sorta kinda assaulted him.

1st Grade : Mrs. Lanesse (or some variation. It was pronounced like that.)
2nd Grade : Mrs. Hill
3rd Grade Ms. Royet for one half, Ms. Bitcherstaff for the second half.
4th : Mr. Wagner. My father called him "Obviously Gay".
5th : Ms. Myers.

After that I had multiple teachers for each grade. Don't remember which one was my home room teacher. :(

Kindergarten: Mrs. Eisenberg
First: Mrs. McCormick
Second: Miss Smith. (How wonderfully generic)
Third Mrs. Fitzpatrick

After that, I had boy teachers. ;)

1. Mrs. Baker - Called her "mom" once #-o
2. Mrs. Harrison - Evil Bitch Monster of Death
3. Mrs. Morris - Very quite teacher
4. Mrs. Deluche - Very loud teacher... never really grew up
5. Mrs. Towsen - Grade 3+4 teachers basically

1st Grade - Sister (Sr.). ???? - all I remember is that she used the "board of education" paddle to keep us in line
2nd Grade - Mrs. Logan
3rd Grade - Sr. Ferdinand - She had my mother, my two older brothers and older sister too.
4th Grade - Ms. Scalcione
5th Grade - Mrs. Blumhagen, Sr. Catherine Gerard
6th Grade - 8th Grade - Mrs Morrison, Ms. Sedlacko, Mrs Sasjack, Mr. Plutnick, Mrs. Wallace,

A little tough to remember, but thanks for helping me reminisce!

K- Mrs. Bumgartner
1- Mrs. Sanders
2- Mrs. Mosely
3- ?
4- Mrs. Robinson
5- Miss Tunic
6- Mrs Jarard
7- Mrs. Walker

No junior high for me. And high school, I had too numerous teachers to recall and besides, I was stoned most of the time.

I not only remember the witch's name, she had 57 of us in one room, the baby boom was beginning, and she hated me in particular, because my father was on the school board and did not believe women teachers should be paid at the same rate as men teachers. She locked me in her coat closet a lot of afternoons, and berated me. It was only about 180 days. See what it did to me? But she would turn out to be 1000% than my third grade teacher, nickname, Mrs. Hell. Second and fifth were the only grades with pleasant memories. Please, no more trips down memory lane.
Shep+
