As far as I know, we don't actually start the music until November 1; but today after a long weekend (3 days (!)), I arrived at work and the music was dead...someone apparently let the magic smoke out of the music system...

Unless it was sabotage...I saw a cord pulled out of some unit I believe makes the music go...:gogirl:

The trees start to go up in a week, though...:(

I think Halloween stuff goes to Clearance on Monday.
 
You can definitely smell Christmas if it is in Catalonia.

No, I am not ready for Christmas. Unless I get a job, it will be just another day for me too.
 
When I was a kid, you watched the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade on t.v. (black and white I will add) The very last float had Santa on it. And that was the national kick off for the holiday season. Next day was black Friday, and the stores were packed, even in little hick towns in Colorado.
 
Well, Valentí's windows have gone full Christmas spirit for a couple of weeks already http://maps.google.com/maps?q=prove...d=oJ0tUY31KX4Enxw8mDQcNQ&cbp=12,69.04,,0,3.68 , as some amazed tourists never fail to notice in their way from La Pedrera to Sagrada Família, but yesterday I saw that the plane-trees of La Rambla were already being trimmed with the Christmas lights, and several other main streets had laid the wires for them too.

Well, Christmas is all about business, and business in the streets of Barcelona is, in a good portion, about the tourists, even if we are two weeks ahead of Russian Christmas for the wealthy ones :mrgreen: :rolleyes:
 
Isn't it in Spain where Christmas is celebrated with some sort of giant turd-laying lumberjack?

It's no wonder you can smell Christmas coming.

But here? Not even the tiniest fart of Noël is in the air...

Well, it certainly felt Christmas-y today. Tons of snow everywhere! Freezing cold temperatures and jackets and scarves all over the place. Love it.

But let's wait until after Thanksgiving to talk of Christmas. I'm sure it'll be like any other Christmas. :P
 
All's I can smell outside is the smashed dirty baby diaper that some pus bag threw as hard as they could against the back windshield of my car because they don't like my loud music. Yes there are many young smelly good pine trees in my yard but right now the only thing I can do is clean my back window off
 
All I can smell is Thanksgiving dinner, but then...I am sure a lot of you guys skip Thanksgiving cause it might damage one's diet.
