I'm wearing my non-cargo Carhartt khaki shorts. With cat fur, unfortunately, since my dear cat Homer is currently in my lap napping.

But cargo shorts can be quite functional. As was mentioned the pockets are quite useful. Does it matter if they are in style or not?

IMO, anything down to my knees is not shorts. So, cargo "shorts" never were in for me at all.

Most of my Cargo Shrts are quite a bit above the knee.

And for the others.......well, that is what tailor are for ...right?

Normally, 9 months out of the year I run around in Cargo Shorts

(where I have to wear clothes) The only way you will get me

out of my Cargo Shorts is when I am getting in yours.

I don't think I'll ever give up wearing cargo shorts in the summer. I often wear them hiking or street fairs/events/concerts/etc... I can load the pockets up with stuff I want and need to carry for the day (rather than toting around a murse )
