My brother had a cat that was superb at catching moths. On warm evenings we would turn out all the lights and put a lantern on the living room floor, then open the sliding glass door about three inches. The cat would perch on the arm of the couch and watch, then pounce when a moth came towards the light. The only time a moth ever actually got to the lantern was when two came in at the same time.

Love the little guy, but if critters that size can get in while you sleep it's not much of a shelter.
