  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention CE&P is in meltdown!

^ Context is everything. lol.

One thing I will say is there has to be a better alternative than "Agreeing to disagree" or "It's too hard to think about" or "we simply don't discuss it."

Laws matter, governments matter, especially to gay people, and if it means the odd argument, so be it. We might not enjoy that but it's still better than apathy.

Isn't Hot Topics where you do the Blinders, training wheels and quasi-adult

supervision thing before sneak into the alleyways of CE and P for a Spliff or

other recreational debate team refreshments.

As for you non-Americans, make a note here, nothing blocks those alleys.

You can thread however you want and then, if they want, people will come.

Therefore......Post your Shit up or shut the Fuck up.

Now, part two..

.Deleting happens, Certain Omnipotent (in their own minds)

Tower denizens think they are the final Arbitrars of all JUBdom and act as

Parent/Guardians even though JustUsBoys is an adults only venue...

FACT of all FACTS is

They tend to win all the pissing contests so get over it.

You ignore what you abhor

and They BAN because they can.

Just My Honest Opinion folks.l

^I have taken a softer view towards the moderators.

Some of the time, the Moderators that we "love to hate" are actually very nice guys behind the scenes. One of them, who rules with an iron fist, is quite a gentleman behind the scenes--quite the "stellar feller". :)

I guess they have to be strict in CE & P because that's where the worst abuse between the members occurs.

world ova it popular pasttime

civilization awsum

^ Whereas in HT it is only self abuse of members?

Being a liberal pacifist, I don't hate hardly anybody.

Phuck sakes man, my friends list even includes a

couple or three of them and an ex one too. Lets face

it, some peoples like the Don Q get out of hand and

need to be reined in now and again...:alien: #:> :alien:

Well, I pretty much stopped going in there too after the mods so much as admitted they could do nothing about the american bias. Or would do nothing. Should be renamed "Current American Events & Politics" or CAE&P for short. There's just so little for non US consumption on there...but than again the biggest political circus is in the USA - no one could deny that. And it will only get worse as their elections approach. I almost wish there would be a clear case of rigging and the election results would be considered null and void. Or maybe ....oh I can't post that here. But refers to something happening to the tabulation machines

I wish you would reconsider -- and post more over there...

I, for one, LIKE learning about other political systems... ..|

Well, that's a nice sentiment. Maybe in this reincarnation I should do something along those lines. How's the rig holding up these days? I always enjoyed your little videos of your adventures out west.

It isn't worse that HT or HT isnt worse than it. Really it just depends on what you liker to have a pissing contest over...

I do like the idea of a American CEP and a International CEP. We had a subforum for a bit when i first arrived but it had litterally nothing in it. CGYMike many singular folks have bitched about that but then never post international events because most people are myopic about their own views and positions and particularly about national issues. they feel it is no ones business how they handle their business. SO since there is a quorum (if you will) of American posters then you get mostly their pov.

This year has actually been tame by comparison to past years in an election cycle. However for my two cents, I see much more panty wringing in HT than I do in CEP....

Well you weren't there apparently for the GWB days. Most intl threads end in the idea that it isnt your country and you have no idea.. Like I said it died on the vine before.

If there was an international CEP I would probably take part in that more then the American one. I am just fed up with American politics... and I just see so many drones trying to undermine an elected President in any way they can... even here. Never have I seen such great nasty disrespect of a sitting President, even during an election cycle... and I'm saying in the BROAD sense (across society).

There is an international CEP, it's just that most members don't recognize that.

Truly, I remember the brief existence of the INTERNATIONAL Forum section of C E & P. It was tried, and I applauded its introduction when it appeared, but it died on the vine - almost nobody posted anything in it. And, I think, part of the reason for it withering and atrophying was that "International" isn't only ONE country. British JUB people may not pay much attention to politics in Italy; French JUB people aren't likely to pay much attention to Australian politics; the rather myopic American public just simply ignored the place. I paid attention to many of the international threads and especially Canadian ones, but I'm probably the exception. I'm not sure there's a good solution to making international CE&P highly visible, when the membership is such a high % "American" - not to mention that unlike politics in (say) Germany, USA political decisions and policies are - for better or [USUALLY] worse - something which tend to have GLOBAL ramifications.

Current event : took my dog for a walk. He's a democrat. What's your (non-human) dog?
Yellow-dog Democrat, or Blue-dog Democrat? :p

Hey, yey...HI bud! I've missed you here!

CEP: Trollville. Post something formulaic and it gets perpetuated. Post something perceptive and the neo-nazis remove it. Unless you're a favorite, when it will endure forever. A Forum for flagellants.
A forum for [STRIKE]flagellants[/STRIKE] flatulence.

There. Isn't that better?

There is nothing that prevents anyone form posting a thread about any current event or any country in the world. Just don't expect many people on JUB to add too much to the topic. 8 out of 10 people who post in the forum are from the US and all the mods are from the US as well.

I think the conversation in there is far more American than the population of JUB overall. And the international sub-section of CEP was never going to work because it falls into the cliché of "America" and "the subset that is the rest of the world."

It would have worked much better if it was "CEP" and then an "American sub-forum" or a "European sub-forum" and so on, to organize the forum the way the world actually is.

Your country has enough troubles without commenting on ours. As for the Mods, they probably hold US passports but beyond that you venture at your peril. They are David Irving disciples.
