Charlie Kirk assasinated

And the Bill of Rights absolutist who said horrible things and defended his right to say them, he's going to get a Presidential Medal of Freedom. They're going to fly his casket back to Arizona on Air Force Two.

A college professor posts on social media that she has "zero sympathy" for Charlie Kirk's death, she gets fired. Among those calling for the professor's firing? Marsha Blackburn, the Senator from Tenneesee.

So much for Kirk's much-praised "free speech".

One of our workers at my job showed the video and then later found out he died he left behind a wife and two kids 😔

MSNBC also apparently doesn't believe in free speech...

Political analyst Matthew Dowd is out of a job at MSNBC after his on-air comment following conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killing about “hateful words” leading to “hateful actions.”

MSNBC said Thursday that Dowd, a paid political analyst, is “no longer with the network.” Both MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler and Dowd issued public apologies following his commentary, which drew a heated reaction online.

Dowd said shortly after the shooting Wednesday that Kirk was a divisive figure “who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead to hateful actions. And I think that’s the environment we’re in.”

That's ridiculous! People need to hear the message that hateful speech tends to lead to hateful actions!

Examples of free speech...

On race
If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 23 January 2024

If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 8 December 2022

Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 19 May 2023

If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because affirmative action?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 3 January 2024

On debate
We record all of it so that we put [it] on the internet so people can see these ideas collide. When people stop talking, that’s when you get violence. That’s when civil war happens, because you start to think the other side is so evil, and they lose their humanity.
– Kirk discussing his work in an undated clip that circulated on X after his killing.

Prove me wrong.
– Kirk’s challenge to students to publicly debate him during the tour of colleges he was on when he was assassinated.

On gender, feminism and reproductive rights
Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.
– Discussing news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement on The Charlie Kirk Show, 26 August 2025

The answer is yes, the baby would be delivered.
– Responding to a question about whether he would support his 10-year-old daughter aborting a pregnancy conceived because of rape on the debate show Surrounded, published on 8 September 2024

We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 1 April 2024

On gun violence
I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.
– Event organized by TPUSA Faith, the religious arm of Kirk’s conservative group Turning Point USA, on 5 April 2023

On immigration
America was at its peak when we halted immigration for 40 years and we dropped our foreign-born percentage to its lowest level ever. We should be unafraid to do that.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 22 August 2025

The American Democrat party hates this country. They wanna see it collapse. They love it when America becomes less white.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 20 March 2024

The great replacement strategy, which is well under way every single day in our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 1 March 2024

On Islam
America has freedom of religion, of course, but we should be frank: large dedicated Islamic areas are a threat to America.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 30 April 2025

We’ve been warning about the rise of Islam on the show, to great amount of backlash. We don’t care, that’s what we do here. And we said that Islam is not compatible with western civilization.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 24 June 2025

On religion
There is no separation of church and state. It’s a fabrication, it’s a fiction, it’s not in the constitution. It’s made up by secular humanists.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 6 July 2022

I believe, given your audience here, it would be more accurate to say ‘these people were elected’.
That's not how democracy works. Those people represent all of us, whether we vote for them or not.

Those people represent all of us, whether we vote for them or not.

That's a nice theory, but in practice it's a joke for the most part. It's why we need to do away with Congressional districts and elect Representatives statewide by party -- people could vote for candidates who will actually represent them, not just theoretically.

Huh -- most libertarians I know "love it when America becomes less white"! They believe that having no racial (or ethnic, or religious) majority is better for liberty. I think most Democrats I know would agree -- more diversity enhances freedom, which should strengthen the country.

Ah, yes... in a country where the population is 61% white, that would give the representative democracy that Charlie Kirk wanted.

Does anyone else feel like a Munchkin after Dorothy dropped a house on one of their oppressors?

A note: on some of the pro-gun sites where I lurk there are calls for "retaliation" from the extremists. Idiots.
From the existence of the above image, I assume that there are people on the other end off the spectrum who are cheering because he's dead. More idiots.

Oh, no -- he'd be horrified because he would know that at least half of those white folks don't care about color when they vote. He also would know that his right-wing faction would swiftly become far less powerful.

MSNBC also apparently doesn't believe in free speech...

I like Matt and what he said is absolutely true and needs to be heard since we have a party come presidential election time that has no problem telling the electorate that should the their side loose it is the apocalypse. But in today’s climate he can’t say that and had he not have been on air when the shooting occurred I doubt he would have that mistake.

That’s a different point than what you said above. There is nobody currently serving at the federal level that I voted for so don’t dump that shit on me.

whoever was counting down til a white man shooting a white man in a predominantly white state was blamed on black people, you can stop counting:

Get in line. Orange Stain Jr was on talk radio trying to blame it on "trans" shooters. Anyone but white guys.

Worst possible time for the assassination of a polarizing public figure in America. It's like we're being tested. The various events of just the past five days would have put this country into shock fifty years ago, but we're too damaged for that now. People are politicizing Kirk's murder without even knowing the motive. If the government doesn't kill us, we'll most surely do it ourselves.
