Chaz Bono - Dancing With The Stars - RE: Controversy

You seem totally pissed off for no reason, and your slippery slope fallacy is illogical and stupid.

Anorexia and bulimia have nothing to do with gender or sexuality, they are diseases that need treatment. Blacks, again, are not part of this "sexuality" group and they already have a long-standing history of maintaining their own independence.

The length of the acronym is not important, the important thing is that we include people who share similar oppression for similar issues regarding sexuality and gender. Could furries be included? Maybe, they just don't face any legal opposition and their preference probably isn't significant enough to be considered an "orientation". What about pedophiles? It's my personal opinion that we as a society need to find some way to deal with them, because being attracted to children is not that bad part; the bad part is taking advantage of non-consenting entities, aka children. We should try to figure out some way to help deter child molestation by providing alternatives, like fictional stories, but that's a completely different conversation. Rapists commit crimes that have nothing to do with their sexuality; they can be gay, straight, furry, pedo, it doesn't matter, it's just unconsenting [sic] sex which is a straight-up crime.

And your last part is completely divergent. You appear to say that the promiscuity and in-your-face sexuality displayed at pride events is caused exclusively by transsexual and transgender people? What utter bullshit. I myself am no big supporter of the excessive sexual and promiscuous actions displayed at these events, but that has NOTHING to do with the "T" in "LGBT" and ostracizing them has nothing to do with it. Don't be such an idiot.

Reading comprehension and critical thinking skills for the win. You've missed my point completely despite my over the top post (and calling out that it was over the top).

I do not believe that transgendered people belong in the same "category" as gays/lesbians. If you don't like my opinion, that's fine, but I think my arguments are sound. I tried to make them outrageous to get the point across.

Really...how inclusive do we have to be? Just open any "sexual deviant" into the fold? How much do you love NAMBLA? Again, exaggerating to try to get my point across.

I just feel that it's a form of body dysmorphia, not sexual orientation. I don't hate them, I have no antipathy towards them, but I believe it's more of a psychological issue than a sexual one. The three males I know that have gone through the complete sex change to female live happy lives *outside* the gay community, so I do have a little first hand knowledge. It's anecdotal, but they are smart, eloquent friends of mine and I'll take their word over your knee jerk reaction any day.

Out of the six weeks Chaz competed, Cher attended only once (it took her 5 weeks to decide to show up and support Chaz in person). I don't get that. Does she think she is too A-list to be seen on DWTS? If you look at other performers, they had family there supporting them every week. Even David Arquette's ex-wife Courtney Cox has been there faithfully every night (on both Monday and the Tuesday recap). Every week Chaz always had an empty , sad look on his face as there was nobody close to him in the audience to cheer him on.

My guess is that Cher wanted the focus to be on Chaz and not her.
If she would have assumed that she would have been the center of attention, then that would have been arrogant. When she did finally attend in week 5, they showed her only very briefly in the audience after Chaz danced. They didn't even remotely focus on her. They treated her like any other guest star in the audience.
