It’s no secret that fast-food chain Chick-Fil-A donates to anti-gay Christian charities — the chain has been getting flak from gay-rights groups for a while now on that. But this week, the company flunked crisis PR 101 and spawned a social-media firestorm with its inept handling of the issue. If there was a gay person — or supporter — left in the U.S.A. with a Facebook account who didn’t know about the boycott of Chick-Fil-A, there isn’t now.

If the 40-year relationship of Bert and Ernie wasn't enough to convince you, know that the Muppets are officially supporting gay marriage.

In the wake of Chick-fil-A declaring its opposition to same sex marriage, Kermit and the gang are the latest in a growing list of Hollywood stars, including "The Office" actor Ed Helms, who are now boycotting the fast food chain.

Okay, somebody is lying in regards to the Muppets/Chickfila divorce.

Muppets people say they are severing relationship because of gay marriage issue.
ChickfilA is posting signs in their stores saying that as of 7/19, they have VOLUNTARILY pulled the Muppet toy due to safety concerns. It goes on to say that while no one has died from the toy puppets, some kids fingers got stuck in the puppet and it could be a safety concern. They are giving away ice cream cones as a replacement.

So, obviously since we knew from Jim Henson's people's FB page about their ending the relationship first, people are assuming Cfa is blatantly lying. However, perhaps Cfa had already told the Muppet people that the toy was unsafe, so the Henson people pre-emptively controlled the story by using the gay marriage flare up as a way to bow out first. Just playing the other side....it certainly looks like a lie to me. A friend shot me a photo of the signage in an Atlanta cfa earlier today.
 
^^Sammie, I believe the Henson's on this one...... funny how the toys became defective after all of this "blew up" in their faces.

He said, she said.....somebody's lying-- that we know. Perhaps now that Mr Freeh is done with the Penn St investigation, he can look into this Muppet/Chicken sandwich stand-off.

In the meantime, all of this begs the question, "am I man or muppett?"
 
I saw the CFA CMO on CNN several months ago announcing that they were getting into the "kids meal" business - that they had devised a healthy kids meal and were going to "market" it accordingly

Hence their deal with The Muppets - what a disaster for the Hensons - not sure how they agreed to this prior - all they had to do was a little background check - so careful on the kudos

Looks like Berenstain Bears are next up in August - another PBS kids program

so ironic that PBS - PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEM - that produces uber liberal programming

would partner with CFA

Bad enough it's fast food (although they say it's healthy) but they hate gays too

CFA has a LOT more to lose in this case, so I'll assume they're lying. They never expected this to blow up in their face the way it did. They'd done the hate group funding for years, so when their CEO blabbed his mouth about it now, he didn't expect that the "culture war" had escalated to the point where it would become the giant issue it did. CFA is in a desperate need to save face. Henson and co aren't.
