If you liked that, you should visit a Chinese hospital sometime. It's about the same as what you described.

I live in England, and my local market has pig's heads, snouts, ears, trotters, pig lung, pig intestines, pig stomach, various chops and joints available, as well as spare ribs, soup bones on sale. No biggy.

As for the alligator - it's just another animal. Just like having kangaroo meat, ostrich, horse meat on sale in various other parts of the world...

Bulk rice is sensible - buy in bulk, a lot cheaper. Besides, that is really weigh as much as you need. We were in Hong Kong for a couple of weeks recently, and we went to get 5kg of rice. It was better than any rice we bought in the UK.

Minute Maid - a Texan company making it good in China. It's a big market, and promoting there is a good idea if you can attract the audience for your products.

WRT to turtles, yep, I snapped some pics last year when I was in China. They also have live fish that you can pick, and they clean them for you immediately. If you've never had fresh fish before, you're missing out on the freshnes..

No. 6, I think is dried pork sausage - The pork meat is raw and marinated in chinese wine, flavoured with salt, sugar, spices and soysauce, then air dried as a means of preserving and improving the flavour. When they are steam cooked, the fat turns translucent and adds moisture to the meat. Don't knock it till you've tried it. Its often sweet tasting, and nothing like a western sausage.

WRT the rib cages - pork bones make excellent meat broth. You may have encountered Japanese tonkotsu ramen noodles - noodles in pork bone broth.

Dried reptile - meh, I've tried it when mum bought some years back. Nothing to write home about. I'm surprised they didn't show who dried fish. Salt preseverd fish can be used to add flavour in cooking meat and veg dishes. Much like some folks love anchovies or fish sauce..

I've skinned frogs before, and it was cooked and eaten. Again, mum brought it home still hopping, and she got the cleaver out gave its head a wallop, and slip its belly open and as me to slide the skin off. Harder than it looks, all slippery and tough.

The duck - I'm not a fan of. It's preseved and dried. Like almost any meat which can be preserved, it's just another food processing method from the days without refrigeration.

WRT. "beef granules" think beef jerky.

The anti-bacterial undies - well, you can get anti-bac socks, so why not? Dong Zhu means Eastern Pearl.

that's the only thing which kinda threw me off. the other things are like star-warrior said just different animals/customs/culture ..

Yeah, there was Walmart in Germany. But they couldn't get a foot in the market since there are many well established retailers here already. So eventually they gave up.

I actually never tried those reptiles, pork, and frogs, however I don't mind someone eating them, I am glad that India (Vegetarian mostly) and China(Almost eat anything) are helping the world to be free of food shortages.

I saw that bin full of ribs and damn near :dead:

The chinese and I need to get together....

Are those oranges in the croc's mouth?

I don't like how all the rice and meat is out there for anyone to touch and sneeze on. Yuck!

I wouldn't mind trying out crocodile and reptile meat, but how do you prepare it? What parts are edible? The turtles and frogs (do they still live like lobsters?) are questionable, as some of them are protected. I second the openly touchable meat , as well as the unfreezed one.

The bulk rice is genius as is the "Even stranger things can be found in US Walmarts" comment (even if I don't like the website it links to).

Oh, I dunno....

A beautiful box of liquor, a couple of pig faces....

Been there....

I would be intrigued but I would be seeking advice from the locals as to where I really should shop, what should I look for and how to prepare it.
Ah the delights of warm Mongolian horse milk tea has so far alluded me but I'll give it a go.

Is all of the stuff sold in Chinese Walmarts made in the USA?

Wow interesting stuff i don't like how the meat is out in the open for anyone to touch or sneeze on etc.

The Crocodiles would scare me and the assorted reptiles

That must be a super walmart

hahaha I saw the frogs tank and I wonder when they will all start jumping and going crazy around the store.
