  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Christmas plans? New Year eve plans?

Good hunting! Do you steam them, broil them, so some other preparation?

I dearly love lobster, but have gotten gun-shy of it, as it is just about the only thing I ever eat that causes gout. I can't shed any tears, as I have a world of other foods I love, most very humble, but I do miss it.

Didn't find a bargain Tuesday, but did buy some swanky 15-20 shrimp E-Z peel, and I think I'll make a few into a cocktail for my guests Saturday, just to pop the cork, so to speak. Still trying to decide if I will serve them Chicken-Eden-Isle or braise the beef ribs I bought for a special occasion (they were on sale.)

I boil them........it's too easy to screw them up home broiling........ ](*,)
I always take advantage of sales on SHRIMP and stock up....... :p :p

So 10 minutes until midnight. I have slept off and on all day. Had potato salad for dinner. Other than that just trying to stay warm.

Well, I missed replying to this before Christmas. I just hung out at home. Baked a pizza and an apple pie and then watched a couple of movies. Just like I prefer to spend the holiday's now that I'm old. Sure, eating a large selection of traditional holiday foods would be nice but not good for my waist line.

For New Year's Eve it will be about the same. Although it's not a big deal for me I do always stay up until at least an hour past midnight. It's also about the only day of the year that I will have alcohol. It's usually just a sweet type of drink like wine coolers...usually 2 to 4 of them. I don't think I'll have any alcohol this year. I've noticed that now that I'm older i get a light headache around the 2nd or 3rd bottle.

I did nothing for Christmas (in fact, putting in a work "marathon" at home), but suggested getting together with a friend New Year's Eve to after midnight. I really want to say goodbye to this dysfunctional, feral, shit year WITH somebody.

Had a busy Christmas Day dinner with my niece, her husband and two little boys. The Zoom call with family across North America went well...pure chaos. But fun....

Now for a quiet week and New Year's.
