The word is out that Clint's speech made Barry very nervous last night. I hear he was tweeting during the speech.

The use of the chair was classic.

It's the only speech people will remember a month from now.

Look for the dem's to try something similar next week in Charlotte.

It's not becoming of you guys to make fun of a 82 yo man.

I admit there were some good speeches. Condoleeza Rice was good, Susanna Martinez was good. Neither lied. Watch the whole Clint Eastwood debacle, though. It was really crazy. I like him and was embarrassed for him. There's a big difference between acting and making a political speech. Someone goofed by not making sure he was prepared, had practiced with the teleprompter (I wonder if he ever presented an award at the Academy Awards), and was not on prime time.

It wasn't that disastrous, IMO. It was inappropriately timed though, better suited for earlier in the week, not as a lead in to Romney's biggest speech of his life. Didn't care for his ulterior message and disrespect; but some parts did have some comedic value. Not bad for an 80+ year old guy. I'm not going to hate on him for not loving the guy I will likely be voting for.

The man is 82 years old. He's not going to be as quick as he used to be. I still think his humor was hilarious.

Eastwood is not a pawn of the republican party. He gave a warning to all politicians that they worked for the people of the US.

One thing about the past week that really hits me -- all the pundits from the right and left and those that say they are journalists wanted the week to go their way, they wanted all the speakers to say certain things and were upset when they didn't follow their advice.

There is no perfect way to run a convention and most Americans don't watch the conventions anyway.

I actually feel sorry for Clint.

I think he had that chair there just in case standing got to be a little too much. And a chair looks better than a walker. He then worked that chair into the speech at the last moment.

And I have a great-great-aunt who is sharp as a tack and speaks more cohesively than him and she has a pinched nerve.
