Uh-Uh. Wonder Woman's been in the shadow of World's Finest for nearly 70 years. She's had nothing but sucky writers (Rucka being the exception) for her comics.

It's her time to shine. Seriously. Having a GOOD writer who actually WANTS to write Wonder Woman has never happened before. Except Rucka.

Young Avengers can wait for all I care. Like the Ultimates. Which comes out every goddamn century.....

So I bought an old TBP of Frank Miller's Batman a while ago (maybe a year or two) and I recently grabbed it to read. But here's the thing...

Does Frank Miller always use that "old man don't have a heart attack or you'll be useless" stuff in his comics? Batman and Sincity...Bruce Wayne and Hardigan?

As for Frank Miller, yeah, it's his noir thing. Good God I still can't get the taste of Batman All-Stars out of my mouth though...

in comics in the last year what does everyone think was the most shocking moment? even with crisis or civil war i still don't see the writers taking any really big chances. so what superboy died or fucked wondergirl,big deal spider-man told the world he is peter parker,who cares emma is still mind fucking people,etc. everything seems done before or just plain blah. i do think art work is better than ever.

That does seem to pop up a bit. Perhaps its a fear of his manifest in his work? Who knows?

What got me then and still makes me weepy, Alfred's death scene.

New Avengers: Probably the biggest WTF from my pull list - - but not in a good way. Seriously, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It was inexplicable.

All-Star Superman: Morrison is high again. Good read through and through.

Eternals: Cool start, maybe Gaiman can redeem himself from that 1602 debacle.

The Ultimates: Fucking ace. Nothing happened much, but great art and some cool action totally compensated.

Astonishing: Double fucking ace. The Hellfire club is awesome. Negasonic is beyond powerful, Emma is more mysterious than ever, Cassandra Nova is now my favorite villain of all time, and what happened to Logan will go down in comic book history. Damn fine.

Astonishing X-Men was great. Logan scampering about was worth the price of admission. Civil War #2 was good, if not more of a "filler" piece. But the big reveal at the end of the book was interesting. Green Lantern Corps #1 was great. I like that the same characters introduced in Recharge are going forward.
