I had been referring to the "mid-life" expression: depending on how long you will life, the mid-life will be one age/decade or the other.

Right, yeah, like Franco rescued Spain from the murders and miseries of anarchists and communists in the 1930s, or Reagan and Hitler reshaped the economies of their countries and, most importantly, gave back their national pride to their citizens...

That Labour government is the one that rebuilt Britain after the miseries of war, and remained in power for as long as the post-war boom held its sway. Once it had peaked and everything started falling apart, it was the time of the opportunists and the wreckers to make their own way and establish new rules.

That's what Thatcher was, nothing in herself, nor in any "values" she might be want to be associated with: only an opportunity and a desperate, weathercock population.
