Re: Corbin Fisher
First post here, but this ongoing debate has always intrigued me. I subscribe to CF and have my own opinions regarding the sexuality of the models. Like many others, I think sexuality in a certain percentage of people can be very fluid. There are others who know exactly who they are sexually from the moment the hormones start pumping as a pre-teen.
I personally believe that many of these models consider themselves straight and actually are straight. But, IMHO, straight in the year 2007 is a little bit different than it was even fifteen or twenty years ago. No doubt many of these guys have grow up on internet porn, perhaps even from an impressionable young age. It's out there, you can see an awful lot for free and young boys with their own computers and internet access like to look. And if they're looking for straight porn, they probably came across a fair amount of gay porn along the way, as well as all the other crazy stuff that's out there. (Imagine the curiosity and confusion that a 12-year old boy might experience looking at his first tranny site).
When you're young and stupid and still trying to figure sex out, looking at gay porn might just open your mind to a whole new spectrum of sexual pleasure that you might not have considered before. As you get older you realize that pleasure can come in a lot of different packages and one of them might be with a member of the same sex. Does this make you gay? Maybe, ten or twenty years ago, it did. But as minds begin to open to different experiences, I'm not sure that the same old labels apply. In the beginning, sex is all about pleasure for most people. But sooner or later, it becomes about intimacy and commitment and, in my opinion, who you choose at that point is how the label becomes more firmly attached.
I would hope the gay community would be thrilled to see a younger generation of men becoming more open to new experiences and not try to force every young man into chosing one side or the other. Whether the CF guys identify as straight or gay or bi, they are obviously unconcerned about what other people have to say regarding their sexuality. And being seen as gay by others doesn't bother them. In truth, the only one who seems to be overly concerned about their "straightness" is CF himself, and that's a marketing-driven ploy.
For these guys, the lines are blurry. And it's not just on the male side anymore. Do I think that all the college age girls having sex with other college age girls on the "Girls Gone Wild" videos are lesbians? No. They're just pushing the boundaries and blurring the lines a little. There is a segment of this college-age generation that revels in the fact that they can experiment without being labeled -- and they do.
The more the lines get blurred, the more it won't make any difference to society if you're gay or straight or in between. Or what you enjoy in the privacy of your own bedroom. Dare I hope that this country might someday escape the Puritan chains that have been repressing us sexually for four hundred years?
To make one further point, before I go back to lurking, I have always been of the opinion that young, horny straight men will do just about anything to get off, including having sex with other young, horny, straight men. If there's money thrown their way to do it, then all the better. When I saw this video, I felt even more sure of my opinion. Here's a young horny self-professed straight guy who fucks a pizza, for free, and posts the homemade video on a public site. Imagine what he might do if CF would wave a thou or two under his nose. Would that automatically make him gay? Would he still consider himself straight? Maybe not. But who cares. He's just taking advantage of an opportunity to make a little cash and get off along the way. And blurring the lines even further.
