Ok turns out I was scared for nothing, cuz the system will always ask you if you want to update, even if there are no new updates available. So I already have it updated to the lastest.

yey!
Anyway today I fooled around with the Wii Shop. The interface is pretty nice, and easy to use. There is a large, scary document to read before gettin inside the shop area... u know the usual disclaimer stuff (nintendo is not responsible for this, nintendo wont pay for that, you are responsible for this bla bla bla)
I didnt buy any VC games yet though. But I will... someday. I saw Sonic 1, FZero, Donkey Kong, Super Mario 64, Zelda 1, Bomberman 93 and some other games available already.
There was a doubt about Sega games using the Gamecube controller but aparently it is now fixed since all Sega games on the VC are compatible with the Classic Controller, GC controller, and Wiimote. Just like Turbogphx and NES games.
Snes and N64 games can only use either the Classic controller or the GC controller, for obvious reasons.
Another interesting thing I found in the shop is that besides the Virtual Console area there is a Wii Ware area, where u can download non-game software for your Wii. There you will get to download the Opera browser when its available... but I wonder what else do they have planned as software for the Wii? Hmm...
