Covers that were better than the original

I Will Always Love You- Whitney's version way better than Dolly's

Brent Smith from Shinedown just has a voice that kills it

Funny, because the picture features 1930s fashions, but the novel is set in 1922, and they always represent the story as if happening anytime between 1925-1929, so what the heck

The original by Side Effect

The Cover - Incognito which is my favorite group now for awhile - I like when Imaani (the lady in the video) has the lead vocals. I like all their lead vocalists but Imaani is my favorite.

Yola was named "Best New Artist" by Nashville Scene magazine in January 2020. This is a reason why.

I really can't say the newer one is better but I think since her daughter is one of the women it is a great tribute and a different but equally poignant and masterful interpretation - so instead I would refer to them as beautiful bookends

The original

The newer one with Lisa Simone

The original - Bobby Goldsboro is in my least favorite artists of all time category and I was turning the radio off when I heard this song (and stop with the birds)

but Millie brought it home for me

For some reason MOST Prince covers are better than his versions but Chaka knocked it out the park!

I love Michael but once again Chaka killed it with the last note!

I had NO idea that this was a cover, and while Q's version is slicker. I am forever grateful that I was turned onto the music of the wonderfully underrated Chaz Jankel!!!!

While both versions are great Donna's can make me shake my ass for 17:47 straight!

I don't know that many people know that Carly's version is a cover

I'm not sure if covering yourself counts. But either way 1973 beats 1964!!
