crazy wacky stupid lefty shoots at republican whip

Sure there are whackos on both sides of the spectrum here. However, most of the Left is unquestionably less fired up and passionate right now compared to the Right. So sure it's possible that someone on the Left who wants Health Reform to pass badly.

Would I be surprised if he staged it since the GOP voters were getting a ton of bad publicity all by themselves over their radical actions .... and did this to make it look like it was coming from both sides? No, I wouldn't.

Hell, I even suggested and still maintain that Hillary's "hostage crisis" during her campaign by Leiland Eisenberg was still complete fraud and a campaign stunt set up for a sympathy vote to keep her campaign alive in New Hampshire.

First, I'm glad that no one was around at the time, NO ONE should have to die because of their political beliefs.
Now, he could file a police report about this can't he? I'd like to see it. Did they find a bullet, can the police trace it, I can understand throwing a brick into someone's window, but a bullet, in an office no one was in? And RedRubberBall, how can you be so sure it was someone on the left did this, it could have possibly from an antisemitic right-winger, Cantor did say he received threats because he's Jewish, OR it could have been a tea partier who got the wrong office address and thought he was targeting a Democrat, it happened before. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that some leftist nutcase wouldn't do something like this, but the old spidey sense is tingling. As someone else pointed out, I just don't understand why someone on the left would want to do this, HCR already passed, what would be the point in this violent act?

He did, and they've been investigating.

I'm not trying to sound bias, because it's horrible if this did happen. But for some reason I'm having trouble believing it.

Here is him saying what happened.

The timing, it just comes off a bit convenient for them to do something like this. I mean, I could be wrong, but I'm just having trouble about this happening when he is reporting it in the midst of what is happening to democrats.

I find it hard to believe that something like this wouldn't have made press when it comes to any politicians being shot at.

RedRubberBall, it doesn't pass the smell test.

Why would someone on the left do something violent when we're getting our way?

An act of violence is more consistent with a loser, not a winner.

Could have been staged too. He was never in any danger. Pretty suss....

You all have no shame, do you? Its perfectly alright to hurl accusations of being staged, etc. when its someone you disagree with politically, but when its someone on your side you throw up your hands and say its the worst thing in the world.

Like I said, I still went on record and said that I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary Clinton's hostage incident in New Hampshire was staged. She's a Democrat.

It makes no sense why anyone on the left would attempt to shoot a Republican considering the current political climate.

Sure, during the Bush years where the crazy left "Bush=Nazi" wingers were at their height, but NOW when healthcare reform has passed and the Tea Baggers are the ones committing the violence like hurling bricks through windows, cutting propane lines, and telling people with guns to stop by for a "personal touch"

Hell, the shootings at the DC museum and plane flying into the IRS are all extremist right wing attacks.

Either way, it shows how batshit crazy it's become.

My grandfather says he has seen hysteria like this since the 60s.....

I'm not saying it didn't happen, I'm saying it's questionable that it hasn't been reported (afaik) outside of him and in the midst of reports of democrats getting attacked. It's not any more wrong if it really was done to him, but why are we just hearing this now and only from him?

It was, and police have been investigating it for a while.

BZZT

WRONG

Thanks for playing, we have some nice parting gifts for you.

Um, no it's on record that the crazed gunman was a right-wing extremist.

The guy who flew his damn plane into the IRS building was also a right wing extremist.

I suppose Timothy McVeigh wasn't a right wing extremist, either....

I were not anywheres near there and I is out of slings and arrows anyway.#-o

Some commie pinko fag is besmirching my character and destroying my integrity.](*,)

I demand a recount and positive I.D. and the video tape  and the protective

witness program.

The guy who flew the plane into the IRS building was undoubtedly a left-winger. Read his fucking suicide letter and stop being a damned tosser.

*sigh*

People who don't research....

1) The Shooting At the Holocaust Museum

James Von Brunn

White Supremacist.

Member of the Tea Party.

Part of the Birther Movement

Quote:

Millions of low IQ non-whites are encouraged to illegally invade the USA . They are provided sanctuary, jobs, health-care schooling, by those intent upon destroying Western Civilization. Whereas, the subject of this email, Henrik Holappa, the Finn, who has committed no illegal acts, is arrested and incarcerated illegally by American agents in Marxist employ.

2) Flying of Plane Into IRS Building

Joseph Stack

Hated 'taxation without representation'

Hate corporate bailouts

Antitax domestic terror attack

Stack’s act was driven by blind hatred of the IRS, not concern about health care. He didn’t fly his plane into the offices of an insurance company. And hatred of the IRS is a part of a far-right ideology that despises anything to do with the government, particularly paying taxes.

Bob Schulz, founder of the anti-government We the People Foundation, said that while he only advocates non-violent means of protest, he can understand Stack's motives and said it is a reflection of a movement unlike any he's ever seen.

"There's a huge patriot movement," Schulz said. "I've been doing this kind of work for 30 years. Never have I seen the likes of what's going on now. It's delightful."

The anti-government movement gathered strength during the early 1990s, resulting in several high profile stand-offs with the FBI. Anti-government militias trained in the woods and prepared for a confrontation with the U.S. The militia movement peaked in 1995 when Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols bombed the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people.

The anti-government movement became dormant until the mid-2000s. Potok said a militia and extreme anti-government movement, fueled initially by anti-immigration sentiment, is back in a big way, especially since President Obama took office.

Can we get facts of the shooting, including if there was in fact a shooting. With all the baiting for protest and worse is it not possible that someone who is prone to violence may have snapped and can tolerate no politician?

Any politician who is not part of the solution of this craziness is part of the problem.

NO ONE should have to die because of their political beliefs.

I'm going to respectfully disagree.

Anyone advocating incinerating gays, sterilizing non-whites, and deporting anyone who can't speak English who had enough followers to get elected to any legislature at all would deserve to die for his political beliefs.

Fortunately, the barbarian I'm thinking of hasn't got a chance in hell, so my rifle can stay in the safe.

People who don't research....

Exactly. And you didn't. Read his manifesto, and the best assessment is left-wing anarchist.

Good point.

I've met plenty of people who would feel right at home in a political party called "FLY", standing for "Fuck the Lot of You".

Droid...Droid, please listen.

I merely suggest that the psychology is wrong.

However, someone in another thread suggested that there might be other reasons, besides his politics, that he was targeted....

That someone was a lefty that wanted to deflect the possibility that it might have been a lefty that vandalized the office. Cantor himself has said that his religion is most likely not the cause.

McVeigh was.

The IRS guy, not so much. His suicide note was all over the map, including things from right, left, and pretty much every ideology. You're trying to pigeon-hole someone into an ideology when all of the evidence suggests otherwise.

Staunch Republicans don't go around shooting people[-X....for gods sake people...

thats what contracts are for#-o
