I'm truly sorry to hear about "the sister thing", but I also think you're on the right track. Unfortunate as it is, it is still HER problem! The only thing you can really do is to continue to treat her as you always have, and hope that she will come around, eventually.

It really sucks when things like this happen. But, the only one that can really "fix" it is HER! In the mean time, don't argue, but be willing to discuss if that's what she might seem to want. And, if she doesn't, don't push her.

Mark, if she doesn't want to see Mike, right now, just respect her wishes as much as possible. It sounds like Mike understands, eventhough he may not like it. But, also don't go out of your way to completely "accomodate" her if a situation should arise, like a family gathering, when it would be "O.K." for everyone else to have Mike around. Just as it has been for these many years, prior. This is something that SHE is going to have to learn to deal with.
