Daschle: Delinquent Personal Taxes [MERGED]

God I hate bipartisanship. Leftists will "excuse" Geitner and Daschel because they're leftists. It's pathetic. if Daschel were a republican, they'd be the one posting on it.

LOL

Re: Obama chooses another tax cheat for cabinet

It seems to be all right for Republicans to endeavor to skip out on their taxes, but not all right at all for a Democrat to do it, even inadvertently.

How about if it's not all right for anybody to skip out on their taxes.

And I don't believe that people like Geithner, Daschle and Killefer "inadvertantly" didn't pay their taxes. These are intelligent sophisticated successful people. They know it's our responsibility to know which taxes we're liable for.

It seems as if a lot of Republicans have morals as flexible as a rubber band when it comes to their own kind.

As do a lot of Democrats.

Republicans used to be worse, or anyway so it seemed, but a lot of Democrats are just as bad now.

Re: Obama chooses another tax cheat for cabinet

Nick, believe it or not, I see your point of view.

I don't know enough about the Geithner and Killefer cases to comment, but the Daschle case depends upon how long ago he paid the back taxes. If it was over a year ago, Nick, I believe he's sincere and should probably be forgiven; if it was very recently, then—shall we say—his withdrawal from the nomination was appropriate.

Daschle paid his back taxes six days before his Senate confirmation hearing in January.

And Geithner is the worst of the three IMO. He's now head of the IRS, for God's sake! I mean, really, it'd be funny if it weren't so outrageous.

Of course, but how can you take anyone seriously when their avatar is of a stick figure dousing itself with gasoline and striking a match?

HenryReardon Should JUBbers take seriously someone who posts:

They won't have to do so. If Obama wins, the military will eventually take over. The possibility of a military coup in this country is very real.

HenryReardon Should JUBbers take seriously someone who posts:

Absolutely - anyone who makes a careful analysis of what is happening might well come to the same conclusion. In point of fact, others have done so.

Whether it will come to pass remains to be seen.

Personally, I think the probability of a theocracy replacing Obama is higher than that of any military coup.

Point of fact, anyone who doesn't see that is probably smoking something. :p

I kinda liked Obama's "my bad" on the daschle (and other) thing

best thing anyone can do when they make a mistake is own up to it - it kinda stops the carping IMO

for me anyway

perhaps as nick says it was a calculated move

either way, i think it is effective

obama has seen better weeks than this for sure

and i find it very ironic that so many of his appts have so many tax problems

dems r just as slimy/money hungry/cheaters as repubs

neither party is immune from the lust for power/money

what's up with charlie rangel btw?
