Dave Mate!

Matt has a certain charm to him that you can't help but like. However, he should not drink, at least not while Ra is gone. I'm afraid of what could happen. That tiki had better protect Dave Mate... Good to have the continuing chapter. Also, I had forgotten that Matt hadn't heard Ra was leaving. He certainly has a great deal of pride for his older bro.

I love this! It was quite funny, and Matt showed that a) he's kind of jerky when he's drunk and b) he truly loves his brother.

I think I may detect some foreshadowing here. There's either guilt or tragedy, maybe both, coming.

When I was a teenager, having a few beers down me seemed to be the only way I could get the confidence up to talk to the chicks and impress my mates. Of course, I mostly ended up acting like Matt has done in these last 2 chapters (my memories of which his behaviour is based on lol), which made me a total turnoff to any self respecting girl.
Oh well, at least all my mates had a good laugh at my behaviour ... but laughs isn't what I was after ...

I think we all have witnessed similar episodes in our lives. However, as we get a bit older, hopefully, we mellow down a little. I still have friends that carry on the same and they continue to embarrass themselves. But, to each his own. I think I could put up with Matt's antics...lol Maybe you could send him over to San Francisco. I'd be sure to take good care of him.....

I read the latest, but didn't get a chance to reply, at that time, 'cause I had to scoot! #-o

But, WOW!, do I ever LOVE this story, Jag Mate!! (!w!)

As much as I truly do LOVE Ra and Dave, I absolutely ADORE Matt! Yeah! He can be a real "stinker"! But, there's just "something" about him that has totally captured my Heart! :luv2:

There's more than just a bit of You in Him, huh?? :-<

THANK YOU! for this story! I do not want to see it end! (even though I know it, eventually, must) ](*,)

SO glad to hear there is much more yet to come!! (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

JAG,

Remind me why I love romance again! I am all choked up and don't know what to write. I really love this story and the characters you have created. The emotions in this last chapter have reached an all time high and I am feeling those emotions just as sure as if I were there at that airport. Time will tell how you guide us through the next segment of Dave Mate.

Such I great story, although I am not liking Ra going off it made me cry....

Dear JaG,
My subscription indicator got reset - I almost missed this most important, and happy-sad, chapter.

It's a wonderfully crafted chapter. Heart-wrenching, but wonderfully crafted.

You brought tears to my eyes, JaG. Ra's Dad, wanker that he is, does love his son, he just can't wrap his arms around his son's sexuality. It's too bad.

Hopefully, time will heal wounds, and he'll come to accept all of his son, and his lover and lifemate.

Maybe the fact that Dave will be the only "tangible" part of Rawiri left behind will lead Ra's Dad to come to accept and care for Dave - he liked him once as a friend of his son's; he's got to be able to overcome the prejudices of a lifetime's learning to see the human beings underneath.

Perhaps that's part of the wisdom of the elders imbued into the tribe by the ancestors ~ maybe part of the reason they chose Rawiri for this august honour was to teach those around him lessons they've been remiss in learning and accepting.

We can only hope and pray.

Thanks for your continued efforts in crafting this story for us.

Beautiful and heartbreaking. Part of me wants you to fast forward to Ra's return! But most of me wants to see how Dave deals with it, and what happens with Matt.

Loving this story, man. Keep it up! (*8*)

Real life has momentary pauses in it where life just goes into auto-pilot and not much happens - they're transitional times of quiet energy and renewal.

I'm sure we'll survive your story being truer to life in this respect, too.

JAG Mate!

Really enjoyed the latest chapter, and was particularly happy to see that Ra's Dad did, indeed, show up to see his son off to the States. ..|

Like the others, including Dave, I was not looking forward to Ra's departure. Unlike those IN the story, though, I was also worried that this might have been the end of "Dave Mate!". :(

I'm quite Heartened to see there is more to come! Definitely looking forward to it!! (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

Oh WOW! For one reason or another I've missed this story since before Christmas...so I've spent the morning catching up.

JAG Mate...what a roller coaster of emotion you've taken us on these past couple of months. This morning I've wavered between anger, tears and laughter.

Matt and his drunken obsession with Dave Mates arse...that was so funny!

Thanks for continuing to share this wonderful story JAG Mate - I'll try harder to stay up to date!

Trent ..|

Hmmmm! I still wonder about Matt now Ra is away.
Thanks JAG. Wonderful tearful chapter, hope you can update us on both guy's lives during the separation.
Hugs
More please ... when you are able!
Harry

Dear JaG,

Valentine's Day - or just after - what a fitting day to hear from our two boys.

Thank you for the tender update. I'm glad that they are well and truly reconciled with Steve and Sophie. It's good for Dave, mate, to have a solid friendship base to fall back on, even when he wants to sit quietly and listen to the ruru and contemplate. It's good to know they're there if he needs them.

Ra, on the other hand, is in a new, strange country. A BIG city. But, he has all that NEW to be astounded by and to react to and start to learn. He's all alone, but he's not. It's good that he has a host family, instead of being on campus in a dorm. He has "foster mom and dad" that can provide a bit of an anchor for him, and a "sister", too, lol.

It will definitely be interesting to see how things develop during their years apart.

Thanks for taking the time from your busy personal schedule to remember us and bring us this nice vignette.
 (*8*) :D

Aw, JAG mate! THANK YOU for that Beautiful chapter. I know how Dave, and Ra, are feeling. And, though it's with a sadness, it is also with Great Warmth! (group)

I, too, am glad that Dave is staying with Sophie and Steve! Being with Good Friends is very important at such a time in our lives. Sophie is "quite the gal", isn't she? And, it's so wonderful that Steve "came around" ... well ... kind of.

And, now, of course, looking forward to More!! (!w!)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

This chapter brought a tear to my eye. Sigh. I keep hoping this is all going to be OK, even though I know it probably won't.
