Dave Mate!

That was sad. And if Ra says "it's only 3 years" one more time I might lose it. What does he mean "only" 3 years? Thats a fucking long time.

Wow! JAG,

I'm with King on this one. I thought sure it was the modeling scenario. I'm now conflicted with both Dave and Ra. I understand both sides, however, the sun must shine again, so I am hoping Dave finds a way of coming to San Fran fucking cisco... Or maybe the pitoitoi will appear again and Ra's ancestors will straighten this whole thing out. I can hardly wait to find out........ Oh, the sadness of it all...........

Wow, that sucks. Now we find out if it's a realistic story, or if there's a happy ending.

Yeah, I mean that. True stories rarely end happily.

It's a tough one isn't it?
What would you guys do about this situation if :
a) you were Ra?
b) you were Dave?
Don't take our views into account when you're writing. ;)

But, if I was Ra I'd leave, and if I was Dave I'd move on within three years. Waiting for three years isn't realistic. It only happens in the movies. ;)

You know JarodA, you can edit your posts for a while after you post them. You don't have to repost the new version.

JaG,
That was certainly NOT what a bunch of us were contemplating.
Interesting twist, for sure.

I could query about the sense in sending him off to the US to study Kiwi??? law, but hey, a little poetic license. Prelaw includes a lot of basics, including foundations in British common law, Magna Carta, etc.

We'll be waiting for the next intense chapter.

Whoever said life was a bowl of cherries - I guess they come with Pits!

You do have a way of capturing us by the short hairs and not letting go!

Thanks for your great creative efforts and sharing them with us.

Smooth, JaG, smooth. lol
That'll do, donkey, that'll do.
(if you were Mr. Piggy, it'd be a whole other movie!)

Wow I really felt for Dave but I also thought that Ra was being genuine in his thinking that it would work. So in the end I felt Dave was being a bit of a jerk.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I guess you guys, right at this moment, at this point of the story, are wishing I'd never started Part IV, huh?

You're kidding, right? I LOVE this story, no matter how it goes! I've been hooked from the start, and I want to know what is happening with Dave and Ra, whatever that may be! They are characters that I've come to Care about! (group)

And, yeah!, I think Dave is being a jerk right now, too! But, hey!, that was a pretty big bomb dropped at his feet!

I do think Ra has the right perspective. It is an opportunity that can enhance both of their lives, together, with a "bit" of sacrifice. It will be a True test of the Bond between them! I'm impressed with Ra's unshakable confidence! :=D:
(Which explains his frustration with Dave's, not so confident, reaction.)

If I were Dave, and truly loved Ra as deeply as Dave thinks he does, I would do whatever I could to support Ra in his decision and direction. Will it be easy? Hell NO! But, as "they" say, "If you really Love someone, you must first be willing to let them go. If they return to you, they are truly yours. And, if they don't, they were never really yours in the first place." :help:

I hope that Dave realizes that, after he's had some time to cool down, and process what's actually at stake. And, then, if I were him, I'd find a way to get my ass to San Fran-fucking-cisco, too! ..|

"Let them go ..." Sure! But, that doesn't mean letting them get completely out of sight, either!

Eagerly looking forward to MORE!!! :gogirl: (< JAG typing)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

I know what can happen... Ra can come to Berkeley to study and Dave can come to San Francisco to live and work for me... I won't guarantee he will still wait for Ra during the three year period. However, I do have a large enough place that the two of them could share with me. Now that sounds more interesting. Just think of all the things I could learn from them...lol Send them over, JAG!!!

Dear JaG,
Whatever could the item he found be?
Whalebone sculptures would be a lot more than $20 or $30.

An interesting chapter - very much in line with what came before it.
When will our dear, dense, Dave realize the error of his ways?

Maybe he did when he found whatever it was that he found.
You've left us wondering, again. But, that 's what great story tellers do.

Thanks for the update on the boys, JaG.
Maybe there's hope, yet. We'll have to wait and see, won't we?! lol

Hmmm ...

Now you've gotten me more fascinated/engrossed. I was a bit surprised that Ra "gave in", so easily, to Dave's demand that he not take such a wonderful opportunity! Granted, he did it most regretfully, but, still, he agreed to stay, without any more discussion/explanation. Didn't really sound like "him". So ... what's up?

I can fully understand Ra's trip to talk to the ancestors. And, I'm quite curious to hear what they might have to say.

I'm also wondering what Dave found at the bookstore. What could possibly be wrapped up in the shoebox?? And, how did he talk the owner into letting him have it? And, what, if anything, did he end up paying for it? (Though that really doesn't matter, any way.)

Can't wait for the next chapter, JAG Mate!! ..| (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz :luv:

Oh that was a lovely chapter. :hugs:

Don't keep us waiting for when Ra comes home...
