Dave Mate!

Argh! Authors!! #-o

They scheme, they plan, they deftly maneuver, they craftily set little traps, they subtly blend/bend logic and reason, all in an effort to ensnare their readers! And, they can agonize over that for Hours! :gogirl:

And then? They don't quite "get it" when their fans blithely skip past, pleasantly oblivious, while being emersed in the surrounding adventure and passion! (o)

Did we read Ra's words? Absolutely! Did we remember them while Dave and Matt were getting all sweaty?? Heck, No! (!)

Yes, dear JAG Mate, YOU recalled that because you created and wrote it! But, you also stunned us with everything that followed! (!w!)

And then the Author sits there, scratching his head, and wondering, "Why didn't they catch that?" ](*,)

We WERE paying attention! Honestly we were! But, Man!, you've also got to stop distracting us like that! [-X

Uh ... wait a minute! Let me retract that! PLEASE don't stop "distracting" us!! (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

It was all part of a cunning plan on my part.
I tried to make it subtle enough so that no one would notice, and yet plain enough should anyone delve into it and rummage around for clues. ..|

And, what a Great Job you did of it, too!! :=D: You're GOOD!! (ww)

THANK YOU! for your skill, imagination, and sharing it with "Us"!! (group)

So ... now ... MORE, Please??!! (!) (!w!)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

OKAY! Seriously this should be a book! I love it, i cant pull away and i really cannot wait for the next part, I just joined for this story n this story only (take alook at my username) haha dont stop til' the end please!

Yay first comment. Beautiful chapter, but very sad.

Poor Dave.

A stark contrast from the playfully sexual last two chapters with Matt. I hope there'll be more sexy chapters to come. But either way I'll take it. :) I'm in this for the long haul baby. :D

Dear JaG,
A poignant, melancholy chapter, but an important one!

Dave is contrite about his transgressions, and almost SUPER transgression with Matt, BUT! They did catch themselves; they DID remember Rawiri, and the Ruru and the Tiki.

As Hercules had his challenges from the his Father Zeus and Step-bitch-of-a-Mother Hera to prove his worthiness, so Dave is facing his own, herculean tasks to prove his love and commitment to Rawiri - and Matt is facing them with him, to cleanse his soul, too.

(OK, Hera wanted to get rid of proof of Zeus' repeated infidelity, yeah, yeah. Hercules didn't know that. Go with the noble flow, lol)

Why do I suspect that Matt is probably right that the mother fucker Spike saw it and pocketed it after they left the skirmish?

That may actually turn out to be a relatively good thing, since he's too big a douche bag to be able to keep his mouth shut and sport a good poker face when confronted about it, so Matt will likely be able to retrieve it after soundly kicking the arse-hole's "bell end" in so far he winds up with a vagina instead of a cock, and his testicles turn into ovaries! (But, Spike is really a prince of a guy - love him, don't we all?!)

Dear, delightfully scatterbrained "idiot savant" Sophie, who gets the details so twisted in their knickers you can't help but chuckle - even Dave does, but who is so spot on about the sum and substance of the heart of the issue.

How can you not love her? She'll make some Eddie Haskle kind of character a great mother some day (of 1960's TV "Leave it to Beaver" fame, for the younger and/or international set who may not know the persona).

He'll think he's pulling the wool over his mum's eyes because she's so scatterbrained, only to be summarily and oh so genuinely innocently put square in his place with his conscience soundly sat back on its arse when she lovingly and without any condescension at all says something out of the blue to make him think, that he'll feel like his ears have just been boxed soundly.

The timing of her "CRS"/Al Z. Heimer moment in not giving Dave the letter from Rawiri until Sunday morning smacks of influence from the ancestors, if you ask me. They knew that Dave, mate, and beloved brother Matt needed to be challenged severely, so they intervened with Sophie's synapses, and made her forget to pass the letter on the day it arrived, when it wouldn't have been anywhere near as powerful a message.

Which brings us to Rawiri, and the letter. The letter, which is simply a physical manifestation of the bond of love that exists between Rawiri and Dave, mate, a love that HAS BEEN BLESSED by the ANCESTORS, as witnessed by the Ruru in the first place. The ancestors set a Ruru to flapping its wings awhile ago, sending Rawiri a message on the breeze, having foreseen the turbulent time that was headed their way. The Ruru, who sacrificed its life for the boys.

Can the Ruru's rebirth, like a Phoenix from the ashes, be far behind? Will it guide them to Spike, and the Tiki?

Will our drama queen, Dave, get his head out of his arse, stop feeling quite so sorry for himself, see that the Sun is still shining, Rawiri still loves him, and Matt, wanker and temptation that he can be, is still, first and foremost, Rawiri's faithful brother and champion in absencia? Does Sophie need to pop down to the local pharmacy and purchase an enema kit, to get the shit from between Dave, mate's, brains?

So, how did I do on my summarization and interpretation? Is my "summary" longer than your chapter was? lol.

Like I said, JaG, a very poignant chapter, so full of meaning and possibilities. Thanks for having such a clear focus for this story, mate. You have us all by the short hairs, taking us just where you want us to go.

It is the vernal equinox, which is the harbinger of our Spring and your Fall. It feels like it is holding the powers of the ancient Druidic and other "Earth Religion" ones, and is washing us in those waves of power. The equinoxes have always represented times of turmoil and upheaval in our Psychic/Astrological worlds. Times of indecision and reflection.

I don't know if you were aware of the timing of your postings when you were fomenting this story in your brain, but I don't think the timing could have been much better.

Thanks, again, JaG. I look forward to your next chapters. It's a long time till Summer Vacation - if Rawiri is able to come home for break - or is he on a continuous year program to try and cram it all in sooner?
:=D: (*8*) ..| :wave:

WOW! Incredible chapter, JAG Mate! :=D:

And, what DQ said ... Wow! to that, too!! ..|

Loving this!! (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

I just have to add my thoughts to all the above posts as to how beautiful the chapter was. In a sad, but very romantic way, just hearing from Ra and knowing his love still abounds will have to lift Dave's spirits. The tiki and ruru are missing, but I feel as though the ancestors will come through on this one and restore both to Dave. Matt seems to have grown quite a bit after the near miss events between he and Dave and I feel he will have a great deal to do with healing this situation. Thanks, JAG. I really love the romance, which always has it's ups and downs.

Am I the only one who finds it cute that Dave Mate can say "arsehole" with no trouble, but can't say cock?

As Hercules had his challenges from the his Father Zeus and Step-bitch-of-a-Mother Hera to prove his worthiness, so Dave is facing his own, herculean tasks to prove his love and commitment to Rawiri - and Matt is facing them with him, to cleanse his soul, too.

(OK, Hera wanted to get rid of proof of Zeus' repeated infidelity, yeah, yeah. Hercules didn't know that. Go with the noble flow, lol)

Herakles was also atoning for the fact that he killed his wife and children for no reason other than crankiness. This is often glossed over in accounts intended for the youth market, especially in America where we like our heroes...heroic.

oh mind, my computer got broken for a week, and when I came back, there are so much drama already. :( I so want to punch Matt in the face, although it's not only Matt's fault. And JAG, if you are gonna put subtle clues like that among the hot sweaty plots like that, I don't think it's not gonna work so well. And why can't someone send me a love letter like that? :(

In short, awesome chapters! :D

We have Marmite and Vegemite...barely. I mean you can find them, but you have to look.

But both are considered unspeakably vile by anyone who's ever tasted them. I think they must only taste good below the equator or something; the equator must act as a mirror to reverse the flavor from good to bad and vice versa. If so, I shudder to think what chocolate must taste like in Oz and NZ.

So "better than Marmite," when used above the equator, is sort of saying "Wow, man, you're nicer than Adolf Hitler!"

(This story is much, MUCH better than Marmite. In fact it's much better than many things that, unlike Marmite, are actually good.)

Oh no, that can't be surely? ;) There's nothing better than spreading some marmite (the English version) or vegemite (the Australian version) on some bread, sprinkling some cheese on top and then grilling it in the oven. The cheese melts, the bread toasts up, and you end up with a crunchy, stringy, tangy mixture that is a pleasure to behold!

As pretty as fresh caulk, and about as tasty.

As for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? :rotflmao:

In America, 'jelly' means clear jam. So think "peanut butter and jam" for the right effect. It's for kids IMO. In the UK 'jelly' means what we would call a jello mold; I'm not sure about Oz and NZ.

You know, being serious for a moment here, I've never been sure whether Ozzies and Kiwis really like that Vegemite stuff, or whether saying they do is just one of those cruel jokes they play on us ignorant Northern Hemisphere types...like the drop bears and stuff.

Some sensational chapters JAG...and I'm only now recovering from a serious case of blue balls! :grrr:

But what has happened to the Tiki?

And how on earth did the nectar of the Gods (Vegemite) come up in conversation?

Thanks for continuing to share this fantastic story Jag Mate....it's greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you should be seeing a doctor Trent.

Also ... letting readers know that I haven't forgotten about the next chapter. In fact, I started it last night. Hopefully should be up in the next couple of days. Don't want to leave too big a gap between each chapter or else you guys might forget what it's about. !oops!

Not a chance, JAG mate! We're just waiting for the next bit...I'm hoping Matt doesn't get totally left out in the cold!

JaG,
What happened? Some REAL Life get in the way of your authoring? lol.

It would take a LOT to forget about our favorite Kiwi's.

JaG,
A very interesting installment.

I wonder who their mysterious visitor might be?

I think Matt is still ducking the central question.
Definite feelings of "Mr. Also Ran" to his brother's "Top Dog".
That's too bad.

Thanks for the intriguing chapter, Mate.

Happy Easter - although, it's already Easter Monday for you as I type this.

THANK YOU!, for that wonderful chapter, JAG Mate! :=D: (group)

It is, indeed, and interesting turn in events.

And, it goes to show that the Adorable Matt isn't just an empty headed, completely cheaky, wanker!! ..| :luv2:

But ... why would the pitoitoi do what it did for Dave and Matt? And, who the heck is in that car, and why are they there??

I'm sincerely hoping nothing "dire" has happened to Ra!! :help: [-X

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

Another excellent chapter JAG Mate...thank you!

Matt really is a more sensitive fella than we were first led to believe...and I think he values his heritage just a touch more than he'd acknowledge.

Thanks again for sharing JAG Mate.
