The new U.S. energy bill
On August 8, 2005, after years of debate in Congress, President George W. Bush signed a sweeping energy bill that he touted as part of a long-term solution to the nation's energy problems. Beginning in 2007, the new law will extend daylight-saving time by four weeks to save energy. Daylight-saving will begin three weeks earlier, on the second Sunday in March, and end one week later, on the first Sunday in November.
