  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Dear Transpogue.

Oh, Gar. You're going down the same path of colors that I have, so far. Only I started like 6 years ago... Is black next?

Crap. I didn't see that for Ultra blonde to leave it in for 45min-1h. Washed it after 25. Going to redo it when I get home.

Jumping down from level 10 to level 6 or 7? Yeah, that'll take more than 25 minutes.

Level 10 = very light blond
Level 6 or 7 = medium to light brown (or in your case, copper brown)

I'm curious. Is Level 10 the highest you can go, or is there another level beyond that? I ask this, because in the first season of Shear Genius, they mentioned a Level 8 blonde, and now that I've seen this thread, I'm more curious about this subject.

While we're on the subject of hair, here's a picture taken of me just ten minutes ago:

What kind of haircut should I go with next time I go to get one?

EDIT: Sorry in advance for any hindrances in the picture.

Keep in mind the lowlights are even more important...

NO one ever thinks of this... ;)

So I'm in the process of redoing it. I think it looks pretty awesome.

Thanks Kill. :P

Dear Transpogue,

When the dye was in, it was the perfect shade. It was exactly what I wanted it to be! I left it in for the correct time, and went to wash it out, and it all went away. :(

What went wrong!

The color of the dye isn't always the color the hair will turn.

It REALLY is worth it to get it done at a salon, babe. Doing this stuff at home is just so, so unpredictable, and possibly dangerous.

Now..a warning???

Sorry I was reading the movie quote thread and that popped out--:D

do a double batch and get the snatch to match

I do it at home when I want to go darker, a Level 2. My natural is 4-5 so nothing really goes awry.

However I think I want to try Level 7-8, and I'm going to have it done at the salon because going lighter takes much more skill than "stick in on mah head and wash out!"

Here's how it turned out.

Transpogue, I have a question about something that's been plaguing my hair.

My hair color is around level 4-5.

On the front and sides, essentially along my entire hairline, the hairs there are around level 7-8, and I have less hair where the blond strands are than the rest of my head. I've had this since I can remember.

My question is, have you seen anything like this?

I'm aware some people have these "baby" hairs that sometimes grow past their hairlines or temples, but the ones that I deal with grow along with the rest of my hair. Could mine be an extended version of this?
