Debt Ceiling Talks Collapse - Boehner Walks Out

oh lord... its going to be the first pink pistol brigade...lol

you guys are a mess... LMAO

You don't do Second Amendment remedies with pistols -- it would have to be the Rainbow Rifles. :D

But that was just the beginning of a long list. Thomas Jefferson said the elected leaders should be at least threatened with a revolution once or twice a generation -- but that's not just some ad hoc gathering of disgruntled cowboys; there has to be planning and preparation.

Another step, farther down the line, is critical: be certain that at least 15% of the population is solidly with you, and in rural areas at least twice that... and along critical transportation routes, you'd better half half or more.

Second Amendment remedies are not to be undertaken lightly. That's one reason Palin's references were such total bits of idiocy.

The republican party hasnt been in control of the Tea party wing since they formed.

I do like hearing Obama talk the talk and walk the walk. I wish he had done it long long ago... If the Republcans knew they were dealing with someone as stubborn as George Bush they would have never bothered to do the prime time theater.

Bush? Phooey.

Cross Dick Cheney with Lyndon Baines Johnson; add a touch of George Patton for seasoning. THAT from Obama would have given them pause.

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

-- Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), in an interview with the National Journal, describing his goal in retaking the Senate.

So with your statement about using the second amendment to bring about the change you desire. One could only interpret that as support for the man in Norway or Mcvey. Care to explain? Surely you don't mean that shooting our elected leaders is the proper course of action..... whether you elected them or not.

Holy shit can you imagine to panty gathering if some anti Obama person said that in here? Yet shooting republicans is cool.

Amazing what we allow ourselves to become.

That's called pulling a Sharon Angle. You know, the Republican whack job from Nevada who was defended by Palin, Bitchmann, et al...

How much longer people??????

Boner and CO. are playing chicken with the economic and political credibility of the US?

Is this really what the US has descended to?

And Obama still has no plan. We get downgraded in the financial markets next week, due in part because of being $14,000,000,000,000 in the hole. The week after there will be cuts one way or the other.

Obama has used the word "default" irresponsibly yet again. We take in $2,000,000,000,000 in taxes and debt service is $200,000,000,000 per year. There is no reason default. It's a reprehensible scare tactic and Obama should be ashamed for even telling this lie.

Maybe Obama should go ahead and raise the debt ceiling on his own. If he thinks he's got the authority to do so, he's clearly derelict in his responsibility to the country if he doesn't.

last week you said that the default didn't matter and that a default wasn't looming.

This week its a talking point against OBAMA???? his commission formed the bones of a group that shortly convenes thereafter to hammer out a compromise package whitch the CBO is now applying exact amounts to.

His plan has been stated, studied, gove over for months to convert into legislation and is now being checked for fiscal veracity by the CBO.

Boehner is the one derelict... what did you guys call the ones in wisconsin that left the state before signing onto a deal?

cowards? deadbeats?

help me out jack, you had quite a few.;)

and watching republicans define telling the american people the truth about what is happening is now a scare tactic, yet when he says nothing you say theres no leadership.

whu cant you just start each post with " I hate Obama and everything he did sucks". it would be just as effective as some of this twisted logic.

I recommend anyone who has an address in a republican controlled state or even if you simply have a republican senator. Ensure they know that job creators want certainty. Send them an email. Do so politely so you don't hit the trash bin immediately. Ensure that regardless of outcome and regardless of the deal what we need is a long term plan to act on so business can make knowledgeable decisions and invest in the future. That will create jobs. Typing thing in this forum is fun and informative sometimes BUT ineffective to cause a change.

I've contacted my Congressman, a freshman Tea Party idealogue, via Congressional e-mail system - no external e-mail address.

I am also following him, and commenting, on his Facebook page, as well as following him on Twitter.

I am finding genuine news articles and commentaries that are presented by reliable sources, such as @WestWingReport.

I can get behind all of what I've offered. Some is from the Left, but some is decidedly from the Conservative Right. The difference is that it is all balanced, and appears to be where we need to be headed.

"Job creators".

That's such a lying term. The House Republicans who use it mean the super-rich and the giant corporations, but the historical data show that those entities don't create jobs when they get tax cuts. They didn't when the Bush tax cuts were enacted, they didn't when Reagan's tax cuts were enacted.

The real job creators are small businesses -- real small businesses, as defined by the Small Business Administration, not as defined by Republicans in Congress. You want jobs created? Start by reducing taxes for purely domestic businesses to zero. At the same time, enact a corporate minimum tax for everyone else, so megacorporations don't get welfare.

Kuli, how can you speak such atrocities.

The mighty Limbaugh has prostheletized that Walmart is the creator-generator of countless jobs for the American economy.

He was just lambasting the DC Democratic mayor for playing rough with them.

Do you mean that, shudder, Walmart actually rapes small, local businessmen, putting them and their empoyees out of jobs, replacing them with lower paying jobs and a mega store that sucks the money out of the local market and back to their Arkansas vaults, temporarily, on their way to Beijing?

Blasphemy, sir.

And Obama still has no plan.

What the eff?

Obama put SS and Medicare on the table and presented a plan for $3 trillion in deficit reduction.

Stop making shit up.

Obama had a plan, it was just different from Boehner's plan. So instead of continuing to negotiate on the differences to get to an agreement, he walked away and complained. It was a childish decision considering what's at stake.

Is this really what the US has descended to?

Yes. The wing nuts in Congress have painted themselves into a corner, because their constiuents actually believed them when they were saying such outlandish things to them to get elected-reelected and the Millionaires Screed TV and Radio hosts confirmed it, so as to keep their personal tax burden down.

Boehner and the republicans had better come up with something soon because in a few hours the markets in Asia open and he and his idiot friends are now seriously threatening the stability of international finance.

And the blame is going to be placed squarely at their door by everyone.

Beat down the term all ya like. We are not talkin about .... or rather I should say I am not talking about tax cuts. I am talking about a level playing field that the rules are defined for the coming few years... companies can then plan whether they be large or small. I honestly could care less and so could business as to whether the tax rate goes up or stays the same. Just knowing what the cost of business is so you can plan out business endeavors makes a great deal of sense.

Trust me whether it is construction in a an area or low wages jobs created later if a place like Target decides to invest in a store in a location it does mean jobs.

They wont build thoe targets until people have money to spend in them

That wont happen as long as corporate tax evaders are allowed a safe haven by the GOP.
