Dem Convention Thoughts

If the DNC was an expensive private party, the RNC was a party of Czar and Royalty featuring all the expensive additions. It's kinda like comparing Michelle and Ann. Michelle Obama had an expensive dress on... but Ann's dress was five times as much.

i don't think dress costs are very relevant - we all know mitt has more money than BO - he's a bigger success - he should

i didn't compare anything but u prob missed that in your "zeal"

the point is .......... the ultimate theme of the convention is that things are better - that we're on the right path - that 4 more years ands we're all good

but the american people - the voters - didn't agree before and i don't think killing bin laden helped them financially

so where does that leave us/them

we believe the country is going in the wrong direction
we believe the economy is bad

obama's peeps are at odds with the majority

it's that simple GC

simple enough for most

Bill Maher is on

Steve Schmidt - says it "looked good" and the people inside the convention hall loved it - let's see how those at home in the swing states feel about it

Katrina Vandenheuvel - she's sorta an older debbie wasserman schultz type - talked about the republican convention being WHITE - and complained about it

Bill Maher said the republicans were NOT funny

Politico Jim Vandehei says Obama and Clinton don't like each other

Clinton talks his ear off and Obama has to listen - cuz he needs them

Katrina won't shut up btw

Schmidt says Bill Clinton is a political talent like no other

he didn't talk about bain, abortion, gay rights or bashed business

the rest of the speakers did

great point

Hahahahahahahah and THERE IT IS! Straight from the RNC's lips to Springer's ears, the word for word response released within MINUTES of the conclusion of Clinton's speech!

If you need a little more help, Jack, here is Ben "the gays are indoctrinating my children every time I turn on the TV" Shapiro's desperate (and failed) attempt to paint the Clinton speech as full of lies from breitbart. A Republican friend (foe?) of mine sent this to me and I had GREAT pleasure in knocking these off one by one (with the exception of #7, which is legit)

Have fun, Jack *|*

Fact Check: Top Ten Clinton DNC Falsehoods

That guy's a loon.

I already posted a link to a real fact check job, and it rated Clinton as getting it all right except some exaggerating.

edit: FuryOfFirestorm posted the same link, above

loved Obama's line about drawing down the troops in Afghanistan that didn't mention the fact that, at the end of his first term, we're still going to have more troops there than when he took office.

And not as many as Bush should have sent in the first place -- but the Republican president got distracted by the urge to kick him some Saddam butt, and left the job unfinished. If we'd gone in and done it right, Afghanistan would have been dealt with before Obama took office; instead, it turned into a mess by neglect... one more thing Obama has to clean up.

and the speakers can say all they want that we're better off than 4 years ago - and that things are "better" or even "good"

but the american public does not agree

so where does that leave the people who think things are better? in the minority

To be fair, Americans believe all sorts of dumb things; 61% still aren't convinced of evolution... to suggest we are not better off is ridiculous.

And, even if I buy your argument, Obama is still the favorite to win the election, which would mean that Americans feel Romney would be an even worse president than this supposed "complete failure" of a president...

i don't think dress costs are very relevant - we all know mitt has more money than BO - he's a bigger success - he should

To be fair, Mitt and Barack are both pretty fucking rich. But only one of them has been fucking president of the fucking United States of fucking America... ;) Just sayin'...

You all need to turn in your gay cards. If you gonna discuss dresses, you should know that Michelle Obama has deliberately snubbed Oscar de la Renta after he insulted her. Since then, she he has refused to wear his clothing. De la Renta has been dressing first ladies since Jackie Kennedy so the guy is butt hurt. Having Ann Romney wear de la Renta is some what of a "FU" moment. Michelle even stabbed him hard by wearing one of his son's designs.

Brilliant take on the situation.

yep - we do - you're one of us americans as am - but it's not like you're gonna change that dynamic in the next 2 mos. so you have to communicate to your electorate and not tell then they're wrong

i don't think we're better off as a country - we had hit rock bottom so if you're bar is losing 750k jobs a month, yeah we're better off

but frankly that's just a talking point - no one expected - not even the Pres. who said 6% unemployment w/o stimulus

so not gonna argue with you but as a businessman in the business with smaller and larger co. I have knowledge of, the economy blows

Obama is the favorite - he's the incumbent - he's a good fella - he's running against the most wooden, misunderstood, flip flopping candidate known to man

BUT - he is a MR. FIX IT - he has done that - and perhaps that's what we need in the US right now - for 4 years - MR FIX IT

my "bigger success" thing was a response to GC's silly dress comment that means nothing - what I meant to say was that Mittens is more financially successful as he has run businesses throughout his career - to clarify
