Desperate Housewives - The Return

Obviously it was not a series finale, but it sure played like one... especially the end there with the "time jump". I've gotta say, I'm heavily concerned how all this would play out next season... I hope they're careful with this one, because if not, I don't think I can suffer through another season like seasons 2 & 3 again. Overall, best season since the first.

I didn't watch the American version of QAF, but I've heard of him
Brian was a complete slut on the show. When he was introduced to the audience, he was getting a blow job. . . .

Gale Harold on Grey's Anatomy as a _________ (watch the video)

Omg I've seen that guy hump to many others guys to believe its with Susan, that's too funny.

I'm glad everything turned out the way it did. Tom is as hot as ever and him and Lynette can make it through anything.

Gabi and Carlos are awesome too, everyone knew Bree and Orsan would get back together, it's great.

I hope next year isn't the last season!

Wow...I think that gay men across America are reeling from Gale's appearance, at least the one's who watched QAF.

But 5 years...5 years. I can't imagine that Susan and Mike break up. So something must happen to him. And also not pleased that they had to make Gaby look a little bit fat...just because she has two kids.

This is kind of like LOST..where they show a glimpse of the future/past. Now will it start off at those scenes or will it work up to each of them? Cant wait...DH has gotten better.

They're going to have flashbacks next season, to show how everyone got to the situation they're in five years later.

I suspect we're going to see the characters have matured and changed.

Bree more forgiving.

Gaby less egocentric.

Susan less of a bubblehead.

Lynette less of an idealist.

Katherine happy at last.

Which of the children make it to the "future" episodes is the real question. Marc is casting the parts, I've heard, even as we post.

I believe only three more seasons are planned, if the ratings hold up.

Likes:

The mystery. From start to finish it was intriguing and really payed off entertainment wise, unlike the previous 2 seasons and to some extent the first.

No Edie. I've always found her to be someone the writers have never quite known what to do with and the storylines she gets always seem to be annoying.

Kayla resolution. The rumors were either her or one of Lynettes's children would be dying. I'm glad that didn't happen and am happy to have Kayla around to return and cause some serious damage.

No one was annoying. For once I have no gripes about any of the characters being annoying. It was like season on DH.

Dislikes:

Maynard?!? It's half your child Susan, put your foot down. At the very least make Maynard the middle name.

The gay couple. Marc Cherry is gay and Bob and Lee and them being the most annoying part of a great finale is what he thinks of us all. It's one thing to not know any better but he does.

Minor gripes: How convenient Katherine happened to find a girl that looked exactly like Dylan, enough to fool people and in such a short amount of time to. Kind of weak storytelling there.

Why on Earth would Ellie have walked into some random house, claiming to need to hide althewhile telling the apparent owner of the house this? If you need to hide, you HIDE! Let's not forget the convenience of the house she picked.

Otherwise I loved the finale and am anxious to see how the 5 year thing works. I wonder will we still have a central mystery next season?

Yea i was kinda disappointed in the gays. But not surprised. Marc Cherry isn't really gay, he's a gay Republican. I've worked with and for them for a while and they often steer clear of making waves or doing anything too bold to offend straight people.'

You'd think someone with a creative job would come up with something more realistic, original, and respectful to the community than have them pop out of nowhere and start squabbling over an ice sculpture.

^^One of the most common soap opera plots is the couple who can't conceive, give up trying and/or adopt a baby, and then suddenly the wife gets pregnant. Seen it dozens of times. (And a few times in real life as well.)

The kids may be hers either biologically or by adoption.

Some people on another board said they looked Asian. (Remmeber the Chinese surregate?)

Other people thought they looked Hispanic.

No doubt it'll be cleared up pretty quickly next season.

I assumed Gaby's kids were adopted.

Yes, my gay ass cried at the finale. lol

I really liked the season finale!
But I didn't see the point of not having Edie in it, I think that you could feel something was missing.
And I didn't like very much how the "Kayla problem" was handled... poor girl!

The Season Finale was a great episode. This show is not as good as the first few seasons.

Andrew and the Gay couple are underutilized on the show. They are in very few scenes. I would like to see Andrew have an affair with one of the guys of the gay couple. Or better yet one of the married guys have an affair with Andrew. That would be HOT!!

Gale Harrod.
Yeah!!!!

I think maybe Mike would be back to fight for Susan.

Seeing Gale Harold caused probably one of the biggest gasps I have done on any season finale ... I love this show! ..| Glad I did not read this until now (I just saw the TiVo'ed episode earlier today).

I think fast-forwarding 5 years will give the show a little better perspective and less chance at monotony. Sounds to me like all of the actors that played Lynette's kids are leaving the show, unless they get filled in as flashbacks. The prior season finale showed Edie hanging herself, probably done that way to gauge the uncertainty of her coming back. They probably left it more definite now.

What still boggles my mind is how Gabby managed to have such an overweight child - I did not get the impression she was such a major cook, but then again she might just be doing a lot of junk food laziness thing.

I'm counting the days until the season premiere ...

Part One: The Gun Song

Susan, Mike and Maynard
How long do mothers who just gave birth stay in the hospital? Maybe I'm wrong but Susan seemed to be there way too long.
Anyway, this storyline seemed kind of dull compared to the others. But it was still kind of funny, mainly because of Susan.

Lynette, Tom and Kayla
I felt so bad when Lynette realized that ALL her kids could be taken away. (I doubt that would happen in the real world, but who knows?)
I'm glad the Lynette Vs. Kayla storyline ended without one of them dying. That would have been ridiculous and over the top. I loved how Tom finally saw it Lynette's way and the way he got Kayla's confession was good. I bet a teenaged Kayla will be back in the future though.

Bree and Orson
That reverend was creepy. For a while I was thinking they were introducing part of the mystery for next season (a murderous priest or something), but he was just a ploy to get Bree to see that Orson really cares about her.
But this storyline seemed boring to me, because we all know Bree and Orson will reconcile. Was there ever any doubt? But it was entertaining anyway.

Katherine, Wayne and Dylan
Its hard to imagine how this mystery would have played out if the season had a regular 23 episodes. There really isn't much to it.
There weren't many surprises in this episode, because I saw almost everything coming a mile away. For example, I knew Wayne would go after Adam as soon as he came back into the picture.
But I loved Bree and Katherine talking about catering while at the gun range. That was typical DH.

Gaby, Carlos and Ellie
I love this storyline. Even though there isn't really much evidence that Gaby and Ellie are close friends, I buy it. This was the best storyline of the episode. The gross cop getting slapped, the scene were Carlos confronts Gaby was hilarious, and when Ellie told Gaby about how her father and her tough life, I couldn't help but feel bad for her. I loved when Gaby told her to get out of the house so she won't get arrested.

All in all, this episode isn't very good as a stand-alone. But as part one to the finale, it works well.

I'll post what I think of part two, Free, soon. I'm still processing it all.

New season starts in little over a month!
Season four dvd comes out Sept. 2!
