Welcome ;)

Chance, I don't know how much you'd be willing to admit about Cheney— loyalty among Republicans surpasses culpability.

But there's no doubt that Cheney exerted significant influence on the CIA to "prove" the existence of WMD in Iraq, when in fact there were none. His influence was directly responsible for getting us into this senseless war.

If you still believe that Iraq had ties to 9/11: please remember that a bipartisan commission on 9/11 found no link. Moreover, simple common sense dictates that Saddam Hussein and Al Qeida, hating each other, were enemies, not co-conspirators.

This leads us to the inevitable conclusion that Dick Cheney, all by himself, engineered this war—an offense too egregious to ignore.

I wish I could understand you, Chance. I can never understand blind loyalty, because it reminds me of those Muslims that we so vilify. It's often disappointing to hear from a person (you) for which I have a lot of respect.

^ Pretty sad that only two people on Earth are standing up for Dick "Five Fucking Deferments, HAHAHA!" Cheney: his kooky daughter and Chance1. AND NOTICE THEY'VE NEVER BEEN SEEN IN THE SAME ROOM AT THE SAME TIME?

It's puzzling, really.

I'm not a dick cheney fan - not at all

i think in this instance he is correct - that obama is naive on foreign policy and i think it's ok for him or any republican to call the President on that subject

it's his/their duty

what do u want?

silence?

Pres Obama was not ordained - he was elected

and i think he is doing a pretty good job

but u and urs would never actually think that the former VP could be right about anything

u just make it personal - he's evil/the devil/etc

which is ridiculous

i think opposition to govt. is fine and dandy

u think it's only ok when it's a dem/lib knocking a repub/conserv

u accuse me of the very thing that YOU are doing

my 2 cents

not a dick cheney fan

but he's making a lot of sense here

and Pres. Obama is not infallible

hardly

Welcome ;)

Thank You but I still feel Mr Cheney should be at the very least investigated. Look He an W both knew that Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11...They took us into a war with fear mongering and blatent lies. Perhaps Pres Obama may be somewhat inexperienced in FP but Cheney isn't and used that experience for purposes that may be criminal in nature.

Um, he's an[STRIKE] ex-con [/STRIKE] ex-Vice. Typically they keep their yappers shut,....

True enough.
The traditionally proper way for an ex-Pres or ex-Veep to express views to a sitting Pres is to quietly ask for an invitation to the White House.

The reason I can't say "the former VP could be right about anything" is I don't believe he's ever been right. Invading Iraq is -- you know -- considered to be a total fuck-up and it was Cheney's idea. He was a liar and a possible felon, true, but beyond that he was highly incompetent and a total head case. Indeed, he'll use "the insanity plea" because he's really insane.

Well, he's quite competent at what he does: lie, spin, manipulate -- all the tricks of an unethical used car salesman, except Cheney doesn't even care if the car he's selling is even real.

The Oregonian here ran a series on the man, and he's scary. I wish I could find the material, because what the articles had to reveal was far worse than anything I could say about him.

i think the concept of "war crimes" is ABSURD

"they" were backed up Intelligence experts from many countries - UK and Russia included

"criminal" is a term used for criminals

at worst, cheney and other neocons were ill advised and made mistakes - honest mistakes that the new admin can learn from

war crimes and criminality are not appropriate

in my humble opinion

ur only at 5 posts - let's go

Going to war against a non-threatening country is a crime.

Endorsing waterboarding is criminal -- by U.S. precedent.

Cheney is guilty -- twice.

Please...even after we invaded Iraq and long after 9-11 W kept on trying to tie Iraq in with 9-11..Come on now...Let's be real..It was a sheep herder trying to keep his flock in tow. Let's say your right and they were errand due to false intelligence (Oxymoron in it self) How long would you think before they figured out it was <ahem> misinformation? No my friend instead of looking for Bin Ladin we chose to attack a country for other reasons. We have had a history of Do what we say and not what we do attitude...We have taken what we want and whitewashed it from day one. We now stereotype an entire religion. Criminal investigations is in my opinion in order. My God boy they tried to hang Clinton for a blowjob lie and these guys walk away from untruths that put us into a war?

BTW debate is healthy I never take anything personal and regarding my number of posts..heh do I get lunch at 20? How long did it take you to reach your 10,000 posts?

Your up to bat.

I think what Chance is saying is this: "don't shoot the messenger, listen to the message."

Concerning this message, I would counter this with a statement made by Condoleeza Rice, concerning the Obama Administration:

(paraphrased) "We had our turn, and now it's theirs. The best thing we can do is retain silence."

Condi does have her moments.

Quite, quite, and quiter. :D

I'm not sure to whom you're referring as the "sheepherder", though -- Saddam, or Bush?

The thing most people overlook is that even if Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, we didn't need to invade Iraq: Saddam had offered an open door for unlimited inspections with whatever security forces Bush might want to attach to them. Of course taking him up on that might merely have made him move the alleged WMDs out of Iraq to, say, Syria, but a good number of folks believe that's what happened, anyway.

back to the war

last i looked, congress and the senate kinda sorta, no make that definitely, backed it up

there are checks and balances in this country

you can't just blame the pres

There have been a number of people throughout history who shared this view with you. Most of them were war criminals.

"they" were backed up Intelligence experts from many countries - UK and Russia included

And guess what? If you follow the story and read between the lines, it seems like most of them were relying on the same sources and they were finding what they wanted to find and ignoring what they chose not to see. Remember the evidence we were shown to convince us Saddam had WMD? Yeah, so do I. There wasn't any. Nothing that was worth anything, anyway. It was all such obvious bullshit.

"criminal" is a term used for criminals

And Dick is a criminal.

I really wish I could believe that. I don't. Nice try but I don't believe it.

I wonder where Cheney will take his earth filled coffin next?

I really wish I could believe that. I don't. Nice try but I don't believe it.

With the exposes of Cheney's career that have been done, it's hard to see how anyone could believe it. He's been a schemer, manipulator and deceiver all his life, and deceptive and outright mendacious when it served his purposes.

Correct Congress did vote to support however based on the Pres information. All I am saying is lets open an investigation and I think it will show that Cheney had much more to do with things then we think.

As far as me beingnhere, thank you for the welcome. I am very interested in Local, State and World events. As a Registered Democrat I do not vote straight party lines. I am considered a liberal however there are a point or 2 that I see on a more conservitive side. I am an Obama supporter however the jury is still out on how things will turn out. As far a Congress I see allot of worthless people there...it's time for housecleaning.

and where is oxnard?

Oxnard: 45 mi North of Los Angeles on the coast in Ventura County. Population aprox 190,000 people. Main Industry: Ag (Strawberries, Avacodos, Onions ect) It has a large population of Hispanics and culture which I have explored and embrace. It is the largest city in Ventura County. 2 Bases (Both Naval Base Ventura County) are a large civilian employer. It is also the home of the Oxnard Strawberry Fest in May. The traffic sux here but I have lived here for 11yrs coming from Ventura (Next city over) The ability to buy a Mobile home was the main factor.

Oh and Go Dodger Blue!! (wishful thinking I know)

You're kidding, right?

So you know where we are at?? Some years ago there was a movement to change name to Channel Islands..Failed. The name Oxnard came from Henry T. Oxnard, a sugar Beet farmer in the 1800's..I wish whish name was Jones, Smith or anything else lol:rolleyes:

The only thing more comical than the predictable reactions from people to the OP, is that "Madonna" has the clitoris to make fun of somebody else for doing the SAME B.S. he spews.
I love you people.
Thanks for the laughs.
Also, lmao@conspiracy theorists.
Dick Cheney needs to speak more often. I love how off the wall peoples brains can be.
